Poelhuis Takes the Plunge

Rui Cao, formerly on a rather nice stack, has taken a very considerable hit.

He raised from the button and Khier Rezaik in the small blind called - but then his phone rang, and since he answered it, his hand was declared dead and mucked. Hope it was important.

Anyway, the action moved over to Joost Poelhuis in the big blind, who made it 6,000. Back to Cao, who tanked up for some time. "You have ace-king?" he ventured. Eventually the clock was called, and after another moment's dwelling, Cao re-reraised enough to cover Poelhuis, who amde a face and thought about it briefly before calling all in. Not looking good for the Dutch qualifier...

Poelhuis: {A-Spades} {10-Hearts}
Cao: {A-Clubs} {J-Spades}

But wait!

Flop: {8-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {K-Spades}

Turn: {7-Hearts}

River: ... {10-Spades}

Poelhuis enjoys a full double up to perhaps 40,000, while Cao is back down to averagey 47,000.
