Wow, Mr. Sorel Mizzi may have failed to cash in the main event, but he's just won his second side event of the week here in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. After winning the €2,000 NLH event yesterday, he's just now taken down the €500+1RB event as well. Move over, Martin Kabrhel...
Johannes Strasmann opened to 250,000 on the button, and Allan Bække three-bet to 675,000 total. When it came back to Strassmann, he asked Bække how much he was playing before double-checking his cards and sending them back to the dealer.
Such was the story on Hand #200 of this final table.
From the small blind, Johannes Strassmann raised to 300,000 and Allan Bække called out of the big blind.
The flop came and Strassmann bet 400,000. Bække made the call and the hit the turn. Strassmann bet 1.1 million and Bække called again. The fell on the river and all of a sudden, both are standing up and the cards are on their backs!
Strassmann showed and was absolutely stunned to see Allan Bække table for a winning flush.
Team PokerStars Pro Johannes Strassmann is our 3rd place finisher.
There is only one official trophy. There are actually two including the unusual wooden statue of a hand, but they're both going to the winner and second place is just going to have to be happy with his €296,000.
