Some curiousness here as Alain Medesan did a very unusual thing and just limped in under the gun. Johannes Strassmann made it 225,000 from the button - but Russell Carson in the big blind three-bet to 575,000 and the other two players both folded.

Carson Snags the Lead

Russell Carson opened to 155,000 under the gun, and he found a call from Allan Bække in the big blind.

The two men saw a flop of {4-Diamonds}

, and Bække check-called a bet of 205,000. Both men checked the {8-Diamonds}

on the turn, and the {5-Hearts}

filled out the board. When Bække checked a third time, Carson made one last bet of 370,000. The call from Bække came rather quickly.

"Straight," said Carson, and Bække was just about to table his hand when Carson's {A-Diamonds}

hit the felt. A sour look crossed Bække's face, and he decided to forgo showing down and send his cards right back into the muck instead.

Carson's straight to the six earns him that big pot and the chip lead, dropping Bække down into third place.

Carson - 4.885
Bække - 4.095

Bække Bets Out

flop which they both checked. Come the {K-Hearts}

turn Bække bet out, and Medesan decided not to go any further.

Bække Four/Five-Betting Reaps Rewards

Wow, this is an interesting hand...

The action went as follows:

- Allan Bække raised to 125,000 under the gun.
- Russell Carson reraised to 370,000 on the button.
- Alain Medesan in the small blind attempted to four-bet but only put in 500,000 which was not enough to be a raise; it was ruled a call instead.
- Bække now actually four-bet to a million.
- Carson looked very confused and eventually folded.
- Medesan folded too.

We are very much looking forward to seeing on TV what they all had there...
