The registrations for Day 1a have already topped the 270-runner mark. Barring some kind of mass ski accident preventing anyone from playing tomorrow, it seems that we will be seeing the 500 ceiling on this event shattered.

Welcome to EPT Snowfest!

Our intrepid team of PokerNews Live Reporters have made their way to Saalbach-Hinterglemm and the Austrian Alps for the inaugural PokerStars.net EPT Snowfest! Nestled in the Saalbach Valley about 1,000 meters above sea level, the luxurious and cozy Alpine Palace Hotel is playing host to our event this week.

The first of two Day 1 flights is scheduled for 2pm this afternoon, just about a half hour from now. There is a soft cap at 500 players for this event, and we expect to see right around that many take to the felt over the course of the next two days.

You've got a little bit of time to kill, but don't stray too far. We'll be back just before the cards go flying!
