Bernhard Perner Eliminated in 19th Place (€10,200)

Bernhard Perner - 19th Place
Bernhard Perner - 19th Place
It has been a great start to the day for Russell "rdcrsn" Carson and it's gotten even better, up to nearly 1.9 million after eliminating Bernhard Perner.

Carson raised to 37,000 under the gun and Perner called from the big blind. The flop came down {10-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Perner checked. Carson bet 67,000 and Perner went all in for just a little bit more, 138,000. Carson called with {Q-Spades}{9-Spades} and looked to make a straight against Perner's {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

It did not come on the {Q-Hearts} turn, but the {8-Spades} river card did the deed, busting Perner in 19th.

Mini-Raise Gets Through

We just caught the tail end of this pot, but when we joined the action, there was {9-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {8-Hearts} on board and a pot of about 160,000 piled in the middle of the table. Huub Verdonschot stuck out a river bet of 108,000, and Jonathan Schroer was deep in the tank when we approached the table.

After at least two minutes of tank time, he cut out two towers of chips and made the minimum raise to 216,000. Verdonschot's cards hit the muck with a quickness.

Verdonschot - 510,000
Schroer - 660,000

Classic Coinflip Doubles Carson

Maxim Lykov opened for 38,000 and to his left Russell Carson made it 112,000 to go; to his left Brent Wheeler four-bet to 254,000. Lykov gave it up, but Carson five-bet all in for 800,000. Call.

Carson: {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds}
Wheeler: {Q-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}

Board: {10-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {3-Hearts}

Carson doubled to 1.7 million; Wheeler meanwhile is back down below the magical million mark on around 970,000.

Van Kalkeren Gets Lucky With Ladies

Daniel Van Kalkeren
Daniel Van Kalkeren
Daniel van Kalkeren was all in for his last 200,000; Florian Döhnert made the call.

Döhnert: {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds}
Van Kalkeren: in some trouble with {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}

Board: {9-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {A-Spades}

Van Kalkeren made a straight by the turn and Döhnert failed to river a flush to beat it, meaning that the young Dutchman stayed in on around 450,000.
