Johannes Holstege Eliminated in 11th Place {€28,000)

Johannes Holstege - 11th Place
Johannes Holstege - 11th Place
Johannes Holstege raised to 51,000 in the hijack and Brent Wheeler asked for a count from the the button. Holstege replied that he had about 770,000 behind. Wheeler announced all in and the blinds quickly folded, putting the action back on Holstege. "Wow," he said. "Why so much? I call."

Wheeler: {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Holstege: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

A very good spot for Holstege to double up, but the flop came {7-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{A-Spades} and Holstege was in really bad shape. The {3-Diamonds} turn card was no help, leaving just one out left for Holstege to double up. The {3-Clubs} hit the river and Holstege busted in 11th place.

Brent Wheeler jumps to over 2,400,000.

Baekke Running Like Linford Christie

Allan Baekke raised to 53,000 and Alexander Debus on the button was the sole caller.

Flop: {3-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {3-Hearts}

Baekke bet out 60,000. Debus made the call.

Turn: {A-Diamonds}

Baekke now bet out another 137,000. Once again, Debus called. Interesting.

River: {K-Spades}

Baekke now bet a whopping 437,000. After a moment Debus flat-called - and then promptly mucked when Baekke turned over a monstrous {A-Hearts} {3-Spades} for a full house.

Debus dropped to around 700,000.

The very next hand...

In the cutoff seat, Alexander Debus opened to 53,000. Next door on the button, Johannes Strassmann three-bet to 126,000, and that was enough to fold the table back to Debus. After a minute of debate, he announced an all in, and Strassmann instantly called. There was a quick television pause before the cards were turned up, but there would be no slowroll; the Team PokerStars Pro turned to Debus and said, "I have aces." Debus eventually got to see the {A-Spades} {A-Hearts}, and he sheepishly flipped over his coolered {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}.

The {K-Diamonds} appeared right in the window, but the {A-Clubs} peeked out from underneath as well, and that was not a pretty sight for Debus. In the end, the board of {3-Clubs} {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {10-Spades} is no good for the at-risk German, and he has been eliminated in 10th place.
