Action Not So Wild

Aside from the occasional spectacular exit, much of the action thus far, in traditional early-Day-1 style, has consisted of small pots with no showdown.

For example, a gentleman raised in mid position and Daniel Negreanu in the small blind made the call. They saw a {9-Clubs}

flop and Negreanu bet out 800; his opponent folded and Negreanu ever so slightly upped his stack to 28,000.

A few tables over, Dara O'Kearney on the button called a raise to 450 from under the gun and he and his opponent saw a {6-Spades}

flop which both players checked. Mr. Under The Gun checked the {J-Hearts}

turn as well, and then promptly folded to a 550 bet from O'Kearney, who edged up to 26,000.

Chips are always going to fly when someone finds a big hand, though - we arrived just in time to see a clearly delighted Jesper Hougaard raking in a huge pot and tossing his pocket kings back to the dealer. Lucky man, he's up to around 50,000.
