Day 3 Dawns
Good morning and welcome back to the Radisson Blu Scandinavia, where 73 happy people are about to turn into only 64 happy ones and nine heartbroken wrecks.
After six levels of high-speed carnage yesterday, our field was decimated from 262 to 73. Only 64 places pay out here in Copenhagen, meaning that although the majority of our field will now be getting a little something for their trouble, nine unfortunates will still be going home empty-handed.
Chip leader as we head for the bubble is Michael Tureniec. The 2008 EPT London runner up finished up on 640,000; fellow Swede Per Linde was the only other man over half a million, with 514,000. In fact it was a great day for Sweden - of the top five names in the chip counts, four of them are Swedish (the other being Team PokerStars pro JP Kelly).
Also still in are EPT Barcelona winner Kent Lundmark, Team PokerStars Pros Florian Langmann and Johnny Lodden, EPT Player of the Year frontrunner Fernando Brito, high-stakes Finn Juha Helppi and Johan "busto_soon" van Til.
Players are still no doubt enjoying the late breakfast buffet (pastries and eggs available 'til 1pm!) but play is due to resume in a scant half hour, at noon local time. Don't go anywhere.
