Koen De Visscher opened to 50,000 and Cristian Dragomir made it 125,000 but then Denis Murphy moved all-in from the button for 535,000. De Visscher folded and then after much dwelling, so did Dragomir.
Meanwhile on the other table, Kevin Vandermissen opened to 48,000 UTG and Vladimir Geshkenbein made it 132,000 next to him. Vandermissen thought before making it 300,000 and the Russian instantly folded, there's a huge pot a-coming...
Manilo Iemina raised to 50,000 in the cutoff only for Philip Meulyzer to make it 126,000 from the button. Now over to Giacomo Maisto in the small blind who tanked... and tanked... and four-bet to 280,000. Within a second both Iemina and Meulyzer's cards were in the muck, and the pot went to Maisto.
Player | Chips | Progress |
---|---|---|
Philip Meulyzer | 1,500,000 | -260,000 |
Giacomo Maisto | 1,100,000 | 231,000 |
Manilo Iemina

Vladimir Geshkenbein's stack has taken a bit of a downturn of late. Twice in a row he raised preflop and faced big reraises; both times he folded. The next hand he found himself in the big blind, facing a raise to 71,000 from Kevin Vandersmissen in the small blind. He called and they saw some community cards.
Geshkenbein snap-called 62,000 from Vandersmissen on the flop and saw a turn. This time Vandersmissen bet out 140,000, and it proved too much for Geshkenbein, who folded. He's at around 1.35 million now.
Pierre Neuville flat-called a raise from Kevin Vandermissen before they checked the whole way to the river of a where Neuville bet 60,000 but Vandermissen moved all-in and Neuville quickly called.
Neuville:
Vandermissen:
Rivered trips were enough to knock out one of the Belgians, we're just two people from our final table.
A short-stacked Karen Sarkisyan moved all-in preflop and Vladimir Geshkenbein quickly called in the blinds.
Sarkisyan:
Geshkenbein:
"You know ten-nine suited has the best equity versus aces right?" said the Russian.
Flop:
"Oh f**k."
Turn:
"Oh..."
River:
Geshkenbein adds to his stack that looks to be around the 1.7 million mark.
Hans Erlandsson raised to 64,000 under the gun and it folded right around to Vladimir Geshkenbein in the bog blind, who made it 140,000 to go. Back to Erlandsson, and after a few moments in the tank he announced all in. Geshkenbein snap-called, and they were on their backs.
Erlandsson:
Geshkenbein:
Board: a rather fun but basically uneventful
"Nice hand," admitted Erlandsson and they shook hands. Geshkenbein is up to 1.25 million.
Koen De Visscher and Cristian Dragomir are continuing to butt heads and it is De Visscher who is coming off the best.
De Visscher raised to 50,000 from the hijack seat and Dragomir re-raised to 125,000 from the cutoff. The rest of the table folded and De Visscher made the call.
Both players checked the flop, and again on the turn but on the arrival of the on the river De Visscher bet 150,000 and Dragomir folded stating that he thought his Belgian opponent had paired the jack.
I get the feeling it is only a matter of time before these two players are involved in a huge pot.
Kevin Vandersmissen cannot seem to do anything wrong at the moment. He's flopping sets, turning straights and hitting trips on the river.
In a hand that has just been completed he raised to 48,000 from early position and after Vladimir Geshkenbein folded Hans Erlandsson made the call. Both blinds got out of the way and it was heads up to the flop.
Flop: - Both players checked
Turn: - Vandermissen checked then called an 88,000 bet from Erlandsson.
River: - Both players now checked and Erlandsson mucked when Vandersmissen turned over for another straight.
Easy game
Blind on blind, Kevin Vandermissen fired out 78,000 on an flop against Vladimir Geshkenbein and the Russian called before both checked the turn. The river was the and Vandermissen fired 125,000 and Geshkenbein snap-called.
The chip leader turned over and a disgusted Geshkenbein flung his cards into the muck.
