Day 2 Dawns

Saalbach-Hinterglemm
Saalbach-Hinterglemm

Good afternoon and welcome back to Saalbach-Hinterglemm, where high up in the mountains above Salzburg, things are about to get serious.

Yesterday APPT Macau High Roller champion Vladimir Geshkenbein shot into a convincing lead - the hand that did it involved preflop four-bet, a king-high flop, a getn with {k-}{10-}, a lady with {a-}{k-}, and Geshkenbein holding aces. Must be nice. The super-aggressive Russian goes into the day on 253,700 - that's 65,000 clear of his nearest rival.

This is nowhere near in the bag yet, though - also at the upper end of the chip counts are friendly Belgian online pro Philip Meulyzer, recent EPT Copenhagen champion Michael Tureniec and Day 1a chip dominator Martins Adeniya.

Also still in with a shot, albeit a little lower down the chip ladder, are Aussie Millions runner up James Keys, online qualifiers Kevin MacPhee, Dominik Nitsche and Josh Prager, and Team PokerStars Pros Luca Pagano, Sebastian Ruthenberg and Liv Boeree.

Play is due to resume at 2pm, in around 35 minutes. Don't go anywhere.
