Pagano Check-Raise Fails

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Luca Pagano is well known for his solid play so it's always surprising to see him check-raise bluff and then give up afterwards.

The board was reading {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Pagano had check-raised a 13,000 bet to 53,000 against Iulian Ruxandescu, but the Romanian made the call to see the {q-Hearts} river.

Pagano now slowly checked once more and Ruxandescu fired out 85,800 but Pagano folded after a minute or two.

"Show the bluff, show the bluff..." said the Italian but Ruxandescu mucked his cards, "no bluff huh?"

Ruxandescu said, "I never bluff."

Pagano, "Well, that's not true but not this time..."
