Back to Fabrizio Ascari, immediately. This discussion with a tablemate was going on as I passed:
"You misread your cards."
[Ascari] "No! I have cojones!"
"You thought you had pocket eights."
"Cojones!"
"No, you misread."
"Cojones!"
"Now you get a little bit of TV time." They left it at that.
Ilan Boujenah raised in the cutoff to 4,000, called by the button. Johan van Til with his new stack three-bet out of the small blind (13,700). Back to Boujenah who, looking at their even stacks, four-bet to 28,500.
Van Til took his time to make the call after the button backed off the hand, and they saw a flop. Check-check.
The turn: Check-check.
The river: . Van Til checked once again and Boujenah checked behind.
Boujenah flipped an optimistic and van Til's took the pot.
Cristian Dragomir and Koen De Visscher have been placed on the same tabling, echoing the final table at Snowfest just under two weeks ago. Dragomir had check-called a bet of 9,200 on the turn of an board from his Belgian opponent meaning the dealer was able to put out the on the river.
Dragomir checked again and De Visscher fired out 16,500 but the Romanian declined to call, De Visscher turning over for a missed gutshot.
There was an early position raise before EPT Warsaw winner Christophe Benzimra reraised to 11,500. A few seats down, Dermot Blain shoved for 49,100, which was enough to push the original raiser off. Benzimra called, though, and they were on their backs.
Benzimra:
Blain:
Board:
The stacks were assessed and it was found that Benzimra covered Blain - by just 2,600. He called all in to a raise next hand and found himself up against two other players, who checked the board right down to the river when one player bet out 4,000 and the called the other player's raise to 15,000. Benzimra flipped for two pair but the river raiser turned over for a flush. The third player mucked, and Benzimra was gone.
We found Team PokerStars SportStar Fatima Moreira de Melo moving in on the turn of a board. Her opponent thought about it but eventually folded up, we believe one of those cards being a club. De Melo declined to show, and is at 80,000.
After an opening raise to 5,000, Fabrizio Ascari confidently moved all-in from middle position and it was passed back to the raiser who sighed after seeing it was 43,000 in total to call and then mucked his cards.
Ascari slammed down and started talking about how he didn't have cards, "But I do have the cojones!" pointing to his crotch.
Ascari has 50,000 and lots of cojones, apparently.
