Swedes Playing The Blain Game

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Dermot Blain (who had run deep at San Remo last year) had raised preflop and been called by the blinds Nedzib Suman and Jens Thorson (who'd also gone deep in San Remo).

The flop came {K-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts} and it was checked to Irishman Blain who bet 6,000. Suman made the call and Thorson folded before the {5-Spades} turn.

Suman checked again and Blain bet 9,600 this time but suddenly and almost a little unexpectedly, Suman check-raised to 26,000 total. Blain did not instantly fold to this bet either and counted down his stack before making the call.

The river was the {9-Clubs} and any hope of more action was quickly extinguished when Suman checked back to the Irishman - who checked behind. Suman flipped {8-Spades}{7-Spades} for the turned flush and Blain simply said, "Flush? Flush is good."

Suman added another 40,000 or so to his stack as Blain dropped a substantial amount.
