Comeback of the Day

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante
Pierre Neuville
Pierre Neuville

Perma-qualifier Pierre Neuville was just noticed doing stretching exercises using the back of his chair for balance. When asked what was up with that, he replied, "I am back from 12,000 - so I have cramp!"

Neuville is now sitting on a much healthier and above-average 160,000.

The tournament is now split pretty evenly between two large tournament rooms, and when you see players coming out of the furthest one without a rack, it's time to report their Main Event demise. Most recently out:

Maria, Full of Chips

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante
Maria Maceiras
Maria Maceiras

Maria Maceiras (younger sister of Team PokerStars Pro Juan Maceiras) just doubled up to around 55,000 after she reraised all in with {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and got called by {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}. The flop hit both the Spaniard's hole cards coming {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and although the {q-Clubs} might have caused some slight concern, the river was the {9-Spades} to confirm her jump from short stack to slightly-better-than-a-short stack.

Kasper Hangs In There

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante
Henri Kasper
Henri Kasper

A small crowd of Estonian media surrounding Henri Kasper's table alerted us to the fact that their boy was doubling up through Day 1b chip leader Ole Kristian [Removed:332].

Kasper: {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
[Removed:332]: {k-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

Board: {8-Spades}{j-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Kasper is out of immediate danger, but remains among the shorter stacks on 50,000. [Removed:332]'s stack was barely dented and he is at what looks to be around 300,000.

In-Felix Bleiker

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante
Noah Boeken, up to 100k
Noah Boeken, up to 100k

Felix Bleiker is out, having found an open spot to move in his short stack - 36,200 - with {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. Behind him lurked Team Pro Noah Boeken with the dominating {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}, however, which duly held. Boeken gave him a little bit of a rub asking the dealer to, "Give him a nine!" on the turn when the board had come {5-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{A-Spades} but both players were smiling and there was a polite exit on the {6-Clubs} river.

Azor Not Victorious

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante
Victor Ramdin
Victor Ramdin

We found Ran Azor betting 12,000 on the turn of a {3-Spades}{q-Hearts}{a-Spades}{4-Diamonds} board; Victor Ramdin across the table announced, "OK, buddy call," and dropped the requisite chips across the line. They both checked the {j-Diamonds} river and Ramdin turned over {a-}{10-} for top pair, an interested expression on his face. He was to be disappointed, though - Azor just mucked as he dropped to 42,000. "Did you have an ace?" Ramdin tried, but Azor didn't want to comment.

Ramdin is up to 190,000.
