Bono's Boat Beats Beautiful Bastian
As level one vanished into the distant memory of everyone, level two kick-started with blinds at 75/150. We decided to head over to table 24 for a gander and for good reason. It contains a former EPT winner in the shape of Jake Cody sat in seat 9, it contains a former EPT runner-up in the tattooed form of Emiliano Bono who is occupying seat 2, it contains Ludovic Lacay and a battered black eye in seat 3 and finally the beautiful Celine Bastian has parked her shapely form in seat 8.
While we were there we saw Bono pick up a few pots with some aggressive pre flop play. Lacay added some chips to his stack with a timely squeeze from the big blind and Cody took down a three-way pot with an uncontested continuation bet. Then we finally saw a hand that went all the way and it involved Bono and Bastian.
Bastian opened up with a bet of 400 from early position and Bono called in the hijack. The blinds moved out of the way leaving the two of them to share a flop of . Bastian continued her pre flop lead with a bet of 700 and Bono called. The turn was the and Bastian did not slow down with a bet of 1,000. Bono reached for chips, before stopping and re-evaluating, he looked at Bastian and finally raised to 2,300. Bastian didn't want to leave the board quite yet and she made the call. The river was the and Bastian took her high heel off the gas and checked to the EPT Prague runner-up. Bono huffed and he puffed but instead of blowing the house down he bet 4,450. Bastian called quite quickly and Bono showed for the full-house and Bastian mucked her cards unseen.
