We wrote earlier about the vocal exploits of Sam El Sayed and he's now been joined by renowned motor-mouth Roberto Romanello.
Romanello had been relatively quiet today but that soon changed when he sat down at his new table. He wasted little time in telling Sayed, "I'm the new boss at the table now. You only talk when I tell you too!"
Sayed tried and speak but Ronamello talked him down, "What did I tell you? Ssshh."
After Romanello had finished the hand he was involved in Sayed finally had his response heard, "Shut-up and play" before adding "He needs lose a pot and he wont talk anymore".
Their table mates are, mostly, enjoying the banter but I bet they're glad they day's play will only last for a 95 minutes. A whole day of their talk would have you scratching the walls.
Lauri Meidla has just added more than 20,000 chips to his stack without having to go to showdown. He raised to 4,000 from under the gun and the action folded to Roberto Romanello on the button and he made the call. Next to act was Thomas Quaade in the small blind and he raised to 16,000 only to see Meidla move all in for 88,300. Romanello folded and Quaade went into the tank.
It must have been quite a deep tank as he spent more than four minute in it. "You want my apple don't you?" he asked Quaade, referring to the red apple he has in front of him. "You promised me that apple," chimed in Sam El Sayed.
Eventually Meidla asked if he could call time and one of the floor staff came over but before they could give instructions Romanello said sarcastically, "Right, you now how eight minutes to make your decision!" The official 60 second countdown began and within a matter of seconds Quaade folded.
Martin Jacobson has just been eliminated in a blind battle against Markus Lehmann. Lehmann opened the action with a raise and Jacobson moved all-in and Lehmann called.
Lehmann
Jacobson
A queen on the turn certified the end for Jacobson and Lehmann now has 115,000.
We heard an all-in and call and ran over to the furore to see a board of . The two combatants were one time front runner Vicenzo Apicella and Ville Salmi. We are not sure who moved all in but we are sure that Apicella was drawing as dead as Leonardo Da Vinci.
She might be a diminutive little thing but Irene Baroni is certainly standing up for herself. In a hand just now Aneris Adomkevicius raised from middle position and Baroni, in the hijack, three-bet. The action folded back to Adomkevicius and he made it 16,800 to play but that did not deter Baroni who wasted no time at all in coming over the top for 50,000!
This was too much for Adomkevicius to call and he folded his hand. Baroni is very much in contention here with close to 200,000 chips.
These were the words offered (in Russian) to the dealer after Garri Tevosov's pocket queens held up against Sami Kelopuro's ace-king.
The scenario had been set up nicely for Kelopuro as he had won the last three hands at the table which helped to disguise the strength of his hand. His opponent wasn't supposed to have a hand though. Tevosov raised to 4,000 from mid position before Kelopuro three-bet to 10,500 from the small blind. The Russian moved all-in for 41,600 and Kelopuro called.
The board ran jack high and the Finn dropped to 150,000 in chips.
We have just reached the end of level 12 and one person who will not be returning for the last level of the evening is Team Pokerstars Pro JP Kelly. We reported earlier that he was shoving the 10-12bb stack and that was how he eventually was eliminated. He did manage to double up first when his got lucky against his opponents , but then he lost his next battle with v of his opponent when his turned a straight.
Kjartan Bergur Jonsson has just won a small pot from Roberto Romanello but realised quickly that he would possibly have won more if he had slowed down a little.
It was Romanello who opened the betting with a raise to 4,300 from early position and everyone folded to Jonsson in the big blind, he called and it was heads up to the flop. Both players checked but when the appeared on the turn, Jonsson lead out with a hefty 7,700 bet, which Romanello instantly folded to.
"I should have tapped," said Jonsson, which we assume means he should have tapped the table and checked, and he showed for a turned two pair.
