Negreanu vs. Sointula

Level 1 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The blinds and antes are small in comparison to the deep starting stack, but the players haven't shied away from a little action. In a recent hand, action folded to Jani Sointula in the cutoff and he raised to 2,500, which Daniel Negreanu called from the small blind. Both players proceeded to check the {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop, bringing about the {A-Clubs} turn.

This time Negreanu took the initiative and led out for 3,500, and after a little thought, Sointula tossed in a call. Both players returned to checking on the {K-Hearts} river, and Negreanu rolled over {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for a rivered pair of kings. Unfortunately for him, Sointula revealed {A-Hearts}{7-Spades} to win the pot.

Short Delay

As is often the case with Super High Roller events, the start of the tournament has been delayed. Many players are lingering about the tournament floor including Erik Seidel, Daniel Negreanu and Dan Shak, so we're guesstimating it won't be too long a delay, perhaps 20 minutes or so.
