Top Two for Mercier

From early position, Alec Torelli raised to 5,000 and Ignat Liviu called on the button. Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier called from the small blind and the flop came down {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}.

On the flop, action checked to Liviu and he bet 8,500. Mercier check-raised to 20,200 and Torelli folded. Liviu called.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and Mercier bet 36,500. Liviu made the call.

The river was the {5-Hearts} and both players checked.

Mercier showed the {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} for top two pair and Liviu mucked.

Torelli Eliminated By the Aces of "0Human0"

We noticed the seat formerly occupied by Alec Torelli was empty, and a quick check with Jason Mercier confirmed that he had been eliminated. According to Mercier, Torelli got his stack all in preflop with {10-}{10-} only to run into the {A-}{A-} of Ignat "0Human0" Liviu. Torelli couldn't catch and was sent to the rail, thus far declining to rebuy.

PokerNews recently featured Liviu in their "Online Chat" series, where the pro talks about his start in poker, how he progressed, bankroll management and more. If you want to learn more about Liviu, check out the interview here.

Watson Hits a Straight

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Mike Watson opened the action from early position with a 1,500 raise and got called by Phil Ivey in the hijack and [Removed:283] in the big blind.

The {A-Clubs} {5-Spades} {4-Diamonds} flop was checked by all three as well as was the {Q-Diamonds} turn.

Mike Watson fired 11,200 after the {10-Spades} came on the river and both Ivey and [Removed:288] called. Watson opened {K-Clubs} {J-Spades} for a straight making his opponents muck their hands.

Juanda Busts Duhamel

John Juanda and Team PokerStars Pro Jonathan Duhamel raised back and forth preflop before Duhamel finally shoved his entire stack in. Juanda quickly made the call holding the {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}. Duhamel held the {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} for the second best preflop pair.

After the board ran out {J-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, Duhamel's remained second best and he lost the pot. Juanda had him covered and collected all of the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event champion's chips.

Bonomo vs. Shak

Dan Shak opened for 5,000 from early position and cleared the field all the way around to Justin Bonomo in the small blind. The latter, who had just relocated after having his starting table broken, opted for a three-bet to 17,000, which Shak called.

When the flop came down {6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{9-Hearts}, Bonomo led out for 17,000 and Shak hit the tank. The clock ticked for a solid two minutes before Shak quietly released his hand.
