Sahamies Takes One From Rodriguez

Ilari Sahamies raised preflop, how much we're not sure, and was called by Samuel Rodriguez in the small blind. The {Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop saw Rodriguez check-call a bet of 140,000 and then check the {7-Spades} turn. Sahamies upped his bet a bit to 500,000, which proved enough to get the job done as Rodriguez folded his hand.

Mikalai Pobal raised from the early position to 130,000 and Anaras Alekberovas made the call from the hijack seat. Antonin Duda called as well from the small blind and Samuel Rodriguez raised to 350,000. The original raiser Pobal folded and Alekberovas did the same while Duda made the call.

The flop went {J-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} and Rodriguez bet another 380,000. Duda folded and Rodriguez collected the pot.

Juanda Bluffs to Duda

John Juanda had a couple of bluff bullets loaded but Antonin Duda had the armoury to take the heat.

The pot opened with a 100,000 raise Ole Schemion from the cut-off and he was called by Duda, Samuel Rodriguez, and Juanda in the next three seats.

The flop fell {4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Juanda came out betting for 170,000, called by Duda and Rodriguez. The turn came {2-Clubs} and Juanda had another go with a 330,000 bet. Rodriguez gave up but Duda was not to be shifted from seeing the {9-Clubs} river.

Juanda tanked for a minute and checked with his ace-jack. Duda checked behind and took the pot with ace-ten.

Rodriguez vs. Alekberovas

Samuel Rodriguez opened for 115,000 only to have Samuel Rodriguez three-bet to 305,000. The rest of the field got out of the way, Rodriguez called, and the flop fell {3-Hearts}{K-Spades}{3-Spades}.

Rodriguez checked and then quickly called when Alekberovas bet 300,000. Both players checked the {9-Diamonds} turn, and then Rodriguez led out for 500,000 on the {2-Diamonds} river. It proved enough to win the pot as Alekberovas released his hand.

Samuel Rodriguez

All-ins are not as common in this stage of the tournament as they used to be just a few hours ago. However, Spain's Samuel Rodriguez eventually went that road against Antonin Duda.

Rodriguez raised to 230,000 from the Small Blind and Antonin Duda called from the button. The flop brought {4-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {2-Spades} and Rodriguez continued for 220,000. Duda gather calling chips, but announced a raise of 800,000. Rodriguez shoved, but Duda wasn't ready to do the same and folded his hand.

Rodriguez flipped pocket aces and collected the pot.

From the Archive: Carter Phillips' Extraordinary Bluff

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

With nine players remaining at EPT9 Barcelona, they are on the "pseudo" final table. This passage of play has never been more remarkable than in season six here, when Carter Phillips and Marc Goodwin played one of the most astonishing hands ever seen on the tour. The PokerStars Blog dips into its archives to examine a hand that is still being talked about.
