MacIntyre Gets There

From the button, Andrei Stoenescu opened to 240,000, and Fraser MacIntyre defended his big blind. Heads up, the dealer spread out {9-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {J-Spades}. Both men checked through that flop, and the turn brought the {4-Diamonds}. MacIntye checked again. When Stoenescu bet 256,000, though, he was check-raised to 600,000 straight. Stoenescu called.

The {7-Diamonds} landed on the river, and MacIntyre wasn't slowing down now. He stacked out 750,000 into the pot, and Stoenescu tanked for a minute or so and called.

MacIntyre, we think it's safe to assume, had gotten there on the river. He turned up {7-Spades} {9-Diamonds} for two pair, and Stoenescu was not impressed. He shook his head and mucked, and the two men have traded places.

Stoenescu is now the short stack with less than 3 million chips.
