Germany's Oliver Weis raised to 14,100 from the small blind before the flop and Michele Bianchi called on the button. The two saw the flop go and Weis put in another 13,500. Bianchi reraised to 31,500 and Weis answered with a shove. Bianchi wasn't wiling to go all the way and floded.
We just watched a massive pot take place that resulted in Oleg Inge Forsmo jumping into the chip lead with 470,000!
We caught the action on the turn with about 140,000 already in the pot and the board reading . Igne Forsmo was first to act and bet 62,000 from middle position, which Nikoay Tyurin called right behind. Oleg Larichev then called off his last 4,300 from the hijack, and the completed the board on the river.
Forsmo announced that he was all in and Tyurin callled off his last 80,000 or so with . Unfortunately for him Forsmo held for a flopped set and the win. Larichev, who held , and Tyurin were both eliminated on the hand while Forsmo jumped into the chip lead with 470,000.
From under the gun, Team PokerStars Pro and reigning World Series of Poker Main Event champion Pius Heinz raised to 4,700. A couple seats over, Leonardo Parmiggiani reraised to 11,700, then action moved to Alexander Ni in the hijack seat. Ni four-bet to 27,000.
Play folded back to Heinz, and he gave it up. Parmiggiani then tanked for a bit before he let the go to give Ni the win.
David Peters must've had a surge in chips since we last saw him. When we did see him again, though, he was giving them back.
Around 68,000 had made into the middle by the time the turn had been dealt to show a board. Peters was first to speak and bet 16,700 after a long intense stare at the board.
Nikolay Tyurin was his opponent and made a quick call to see the river appear. Peters, once more, stared intensely before he checked. His Russian opponent checked behind and took the pot with as Peters could only muster .
From middle position, Ioannis Kontonatsios raised to 4,000. In the cutoff seat, Atanas Kavrakov flatted, then play fell on Stefano Giarrusso on the button. From there, play folded back to Kontonatsios, and he reraised to 29,000. After Kavrakov folded, Giarrusso tank-folded the face up, and Kontonatsios won the pot.
With 35,000 in the pot and a board reading , Alessandro Sarro bet 11,000 into Justin Bonomo, who made the call from the cutoff. Sarro then checked the river, and after thinking about it for a minute, Bonomo did the same and tabled for a rivered set. Sarro just shook his head and showed for an inferior set.
The flop read and Luca Moschitta led for 11,100. Chris Moneymaker was his lone opponent and dropped in a stack of t5,000 chips which was a bet that put Moschitta all in. Much to Moneymaker's disappointment, Moschitta quickly called.
Moneymaker:
Moschitta
Moneymaker was up against a turned flush but was drawing live with the ten of spades. The river bricked out, however, and he was forced to ship an all in of roughly 42,000 to Moschitta.
Fernando Cimaglia opened with a 5,000 raise from the button and both Rob Yong in the small blind and Alfonso Donnarumma in the big blind called.
The flop went and all three checked. Yong made the first move on the turn betting 5,000 and Donnarumma raised to 10,000. Cimaglia folded and Yong called.
Both players checked the on the river and Donnarumma opened for a pair of nines. Yong mucked his hand and Donnarumm collected the pot.
Ignat "0Human0" Liviu started the day with just 10,600, but he's still fighting here on Day 2; in fact, he's increased that stack up to 85,000.
In a recent hand, action folded around to Team PokerStars Pro Victor Ramdin in the small blind and he raised to 4,000. Liviu defended from the big and it was heads-up to the flop. Ramdin, who was working with a short stack, led out for 3,000, and it was enough to get the job done as Liviu folded. It wasn't much of a hand, but it's a good excuse to update you on their counts.
