Mizzi Mizzi Mizzi Mizzi Can't You See?

On one of the last hands of Level 12, Sorel Mizzi was all in for his last 60,000 on a flop of {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}. There was about 250,000 in the middle, and Anatoly Gurtovoy was in the tank. While Gurtovoy was in the tank, we sprinted over to Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier's table to catch his double up.

When we returned, Mizzi was scooping the entire pot. We asked tablemate Paul Volpe what happened, and according to him, most of the action occurred preflop. Volpe told us that he opened, Mizzi three-bet, Gurtovoy four-bet and Volpe folded. Mizzi put in a five-bet, Gurtovoy made it six-bets, and Mizzi called leaving just 60,000 or so behind.

Mizzi then jammed on the flop, and Gurtovoy tank-called. Mizzi rolled over ace-king for ace-high, which was ahead of Gurtovoy's {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for queen-high. The turn and river both bricked, and Mizzi doubled through.

ElkY Doubles

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier

After a series of bets and raises, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier was all in and at risk preflop for 70,200 with {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. Mikael Erixon had him at risk with {k-Spades}{10-Clubs}, and there was a king on the {k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{q-Spades} flop. The {9-Clubs} on the turn gave Grospellier three extra outs to make a straight, and the {10-Spades} spiked on the river to give him said straight.

The Frenchman doubled to around 142,000 chips, while Erixon is left with just 35,000.

O'Dwyer Out

We missed the action, but there was an all in and a call on a paired board over on Table 3. Konstantin Puchkov tabled two nines for a full house, and Steve O'Dwyer, the all-in player, mucked his hand.

O'Dwyer is out, while Puchkov is up to around 220,000 chips.

Rudolf Babayan opened to 6,000 from early position, Kristijonas Andrulis called on the button, and "Mad" Marvin Rettenmaier three-bet from the big blind. Babayan moved all in, Andrulis folded, and Rettenmaier called.

Babayan: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Bustouts

Mizzi's Ladies

Sorel Mizzi opened to 5,000 from under the gun, Pawel Brzeski called near the button, and Paul Volpe defended his big blind. The flop fell {5-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, Volpe checked, and Mizzi continued for 8,300. Only Volpe called.

The turn was the {6-Clubs}, both players knuckled, and the {j-Clubs} was dealt on the river. Volpe tanked for 15 seconds or so then checked, prompting Mizzi to fire 24,000. Volpe mulled the decision over for close to a minute, then tossed forward a red T25,000 chip.

Mizzi snapped over {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for a pair of queens, and Volpe mucked his hand.
