Huge Bust On Second-to-Last Hand Before Break

Just before the break, Andrey Gulyy and Anatoly Gurtovoy took a flop of {8-Spades}{6-Spades}{9-Clubs}. Gulyy fired 32,200, Gurtovoy moved all in for 115,900, and Gulyy scrunched his face, tanked for a bit, then tossed out a few red T25,000 chips to make the call.

Gulyy: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Gurtovoy: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}

The turn and river came {9-Diamonds}, {7-Diamonds} respectively, giving Gurtovoy a straight, but Gulyy had a higher one. Gurtovoy hit the rail, while Gulyy rocketed up to 465,000 chips.

Quack's Kings

Martin Quack opened to 6,500 from under the gun, Konstantin Puchkov three-bet to 14,000 on the button, and Quack four-bet to 32,000. Puchkov quickly called.

The flop fell {4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}, and Quack led out for 28,000. Puchkov called.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds}, and after unknown action (James Carroll and Nadar Kakhmazov had just gone all in), Quack was all in and at risk for his last 97,000 chips with {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}. Puchkov had {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, and bricked when the river delivered the {3-Hearts}.

Croll Holds

Nadar Kakhmazov was all in and at risk holding {j-Spades}{10-Spades} on Table 2. James Carroll had him crushed with {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and the flop fell {8-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Spades}.

What a sweat!

The turn was a black king, and 50 percent of black kings would have Carroll drawing dead, but the {k-Clubs} landed safely on the felt. The {10-Diamonds} on the river gave Kakhmazov a meaningless pair, and he was eliminated.

Cya Kitai

Andrey Gulyy opened to 6,000 from the hijack seat, Sorel Mizzi three-bet to 13,800 from the cutoff, and Davidi Kitai moved all in on the button. Gulyy re-shoved, and Mizzi folded.

Gulyy: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Kitai: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, and Kitai was eliminated.

"A Great Spot"

Marc-Andre Ladouceur was all in preflop for his last 26,000, and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier called on the button. Philippe Ktorza re-shoved from the big blind, and Grospellier unhappily folded.

"Wow," Ladouceur said turning over {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. "This is a great spot."

Ktorza then tabled {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}.

"Maybe not," Ladouceur said, laughing.

The board ran out {3-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}, and the French-Canadian was eliminated. He wished the table good luck, then exited.

Taddia Out, Volpe Up

After a series of bets and raises, started by an open by Matteo Taddia, there was a three-way all in on Table 5. The hands looked like this:

Taddia: {j-}{j-}
Olivier Busquet: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Paul Volpe: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

The board ran out {3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, Taddia was eliminated, and Volpe more than doubled to 225,000 chips.

Busquet dropped down to around 214,000.
