Lavallee and Mizzi Play a Massive Cooler Hand

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Jason Lavallee rockets into the chip lead
Jason Lavallee rockets into the chip lead

After a series of nominal pots, Sorel Mizzi and Jason Lavallee both found top three hands and played a nearly two million-chip pot.

The action folded to Mizzi, who raised to 48,000 on the button, and David "Devil Fish" Ulliott called in the small blind. Lavallee reached for chips, three-betting to 138,000, and Mizzi responded with a four-bet to 280,000. Ulliott sat back in his chair for 10 seconds before folding, and Lavallee announced that he was all in.

"Call," Mizzi said quickly.

Lavallee turned over {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}, prompting Mizzi to frown before showing his {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}.

The aces held up as the board came {8-Spades}{4-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{9-Spades}, and Lavallee doubled to 1.956 million chips. Mizzi plummeted to 260,000.

Mizzi Doubles Right Back Up

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Sorel Mizzi was the short stack after losing that huge hand against Jason Lavallee but he just regained some momentum.

Mizzi moved all in from the hijack for 254,000 and Lavallee called quickly from the button. Both blinds folded and the showdown went as following.

Mizzi: {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Lavallee: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Mizzi doubled back up. Lavallee still holds the chip lead and Mizzi still has one of the shortest stacks at the table.

Mark Teltscher

We've had seen shoves from both Mark Teltscher and Tamer Kamel after the break but it was the former who just got his second shove called. Teltscher moved all in for right around 600,000 chips and Jason Lavallee called quickly from the small blind.

"Sh*t, that's fast," Teltscher sighed, "You big?" he added, as Lavallee showed him the bad news.

Lavallee: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}
Teltscher: {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {Q-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Teltscher wished all the remaining players good luck before exiting the tournament area. Teltscher has been all class all day and he left the tournament area with his head held high.

Queen-High Call Pushes Lavallee's Stack to Three Million

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante
Jason Lavallee
Jason Lavallee

Jason Lavallee raised to 60,000 in middle position, and two players called - Carla Sabini on the button and Sorel Mizzi in the big blind. The dealer fanned {8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, Mizzi checked, and Lavallee examined Mizzi's stack before tossing out a continuation-bet of 78,000. Only Sabini called.

The turn brought a second three - the {3-Hearts} - and Lavallee checked. Sabini quickly pushed out a small stack of pumpkin T25,000 chips, making it 100,000 to go, and Lavallee called.

The {k-Spades} completed the board, Lavallee knuckled again, and Sabini immediately reached for chips. She fired out 160,000 (less than 30% of the pot), and Lavallee chuckled before calling. Sabini showed {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a busted gutshot draw, and her fellow countryman tabled {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for a better queen-high.

Luca Pagano

Team PokerStars Pro Luca Pagano raised to 60,000 from early position and David Ulliott called from the cutoff. Jason Lavallee was seated on the button and he called as well after which both blinds folded.

The flop brought {9-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and Pagano moved all in right away for right around 500,000 chips. Ulliott folded immediately and Lavallee looked back down at his cards and called right away.

Lavallee: {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Pagano: {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

The board ran out {K-Hearts}, {A-Diamonds} and Pagano was knocked out.

"I keep losing these huge hands," Pagano sighed as he shook his head and wished the other players good luck. Lavallee is running away with it here as just six players remain
