What Did We Miss?

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Over on one of the outer tables we just noticed a huge stack in front of German pro Johannes Strassmann. The three-time EPT Main Event finalist and third place finisher during the Snowfest event in 2010 has 550,000 in front of him and that makes him the clear chip leader. Martin Jacobson on the other hand was spotted with a lot of chips earlier but he now has to work with around 200,000.

Did Jacobson and Strassmann clash? We're not sure but the German could've also busted Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand Grospellier who was knocked out under unknown circumstances.

Small One For Jacobson

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Talal Shakerchi raised to 3,500 and Martin Jacobson called from the button. Johannes Strassmann folded from the small blind after which Fabian Quoss called from the big.

The flop brought out {Q-Spades}{3-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Quoss checked.

Shakerchi bet 6,000 and Jacobson was his only caller.

On the turn the {3-Clubs} hit and Shakerchi gave up as he check-folded to Jacobson's 16,000-chip bet.

Who's on the Way?

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We have it on good authority that there are eight players who are committed to playing but have yet to show up. They include Jeff Rossiter, Jason Mercier, Rick Salomon, Sam Trickett, Igor Kurganov, Niklas Heinecker and Viktor "Isildur1" Blom. Only time will tell when those players will take their seats.

There is also an outside chance that Andrew Lichtenberger and Marc-Andre Ladouceur will make their way to London.

Good Start For Altergott

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

EPT Monte Carlo Super High Roller winner Max Altergott just picked up a pot which bumped his stack up to 300,000. Timothy Adams raised to 4,100 and Altergott called from his immediate left. Dan Smith also called from the small blind and three players saw the flop.

The flop brought {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Smith checked to Adams who bet 8,000.

Altergott was Adams' only called and the turn brought the {9-Hearts}. This time Adams checked and folded after his opponent threw out 16,000.

Flush Over Flush Benefits Perkins

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

It looks like Bill Perkins' decision to re-enter was a good one as he was just on the good end of a flush-over-flush hand.

We didn't catch all the details, but we do know the board read {8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} when both players got 75,000 in the pot. When the {9-Spades} completed the board on the river, there was a bet of 80,000 (by which player we're not sure) and a call.

Jouhkimainen tabled the {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a king-high flush, but unfortunately for him it was no good as Perkins held the {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for an ace-high flush.

In the very next hand, a player opened for 2,600 and Perkins three-bet to 5,000 from the cutoff. Jouhkimainen then four-bet to 13,000 from the button, the blinds and original raiser folded, and Perkins made the call. Both players proceeded to check the {6-Spades}{j-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop, the {10-Hearts} turned and Perkins bet 10,000. Jouhkimainen popped it to 22,000, Perkins tank-called and the {Q-Spades} completed the board on the river. Perkins slowed down with a check and then folded when Jouhkimainen bet 40,000.
