Ladies are No Match for Altergott

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Max Altergott got his stack of 82,000 all in preflop holding the {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and was in bad shape against Martin Finger's {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}. The {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{j-Hearts} flop gave Altergott a little help by pairing his jack, but he would needed either another or an ace to keep his tournament hopes alive. Wouldn't you know it, the {J-Spades} turn was just what he was looking for.

The {3-Diamonds} river failed to change a thing, and a frustrated-looking Finger sent some chips over to Altergott.

Slow Start For Mercier

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier showed up a little late for Day 1 of this event, and he started losing two pots.

First he raised under the gun to 5,100 and the action was folded to Martin Finger who called from the big blind. The flop brought out {A-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Finger check-called 3,700.

On the turn the {6-Hearts} hit and both players checked.

The river brought the {7-Hearts} and this time Finger bet 7,000. Mercier looked back down at his cards, pump faked with some chips, and then folded.

A few hands later Mercier was seated on the button and raised to 5,500. Tobias Reinkemeier called from the big blind and the flop brought {K-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

Both players checked and on the turn the {Q-Hearts} hit. Reinkemeier bet 8,000 on the turn and Mercier called.

The river brought the {6-Diamonds} and now the German pro tossed out 25,100.

"Just two chips right?" Mercier said as he seemed to be making the call.

"The biggest and the smallest," Mercier hummed about having to put in a 25,000 chip and a 100 chip. Eventually the former EPT San Remo winner folded and he drops a little below the starting stack.

We just noticed Jason Mercier and Shawn Buchanan sit down and Sam Trickett also strolled into the tournament room. Haralabos Voulgaris, who busted in the previous level, came back for more and he was moved to the feature table.

Double Up For Mizzi

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

We just caught the tail end of a Sorel Mizzi double up through Johannes Strassmann boosting his stack up to 140,000. The showdown was as following.

Mizzi: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Strassmann: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The board ran out {7-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Strassmann took a little hit.

McDonald Busts Yong

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Richard Yong
Richard Yong

The board read {10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades} when Richard Yong moved all in from the cutoff for 120,300. Mike McDonald was seated on the button and he tanked for a bit before ultimately making the call.

Yong: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}
McDonald: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

The river brought the {8-Clubs} and Yong was knocked out. Knowing Yong from previous Super High Roller events we assume he will be back to give this tournament another go.
