Feature Table Chip Counts

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Antonius Back in It

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Patrik Antonius was far from happy with about the tournament director not holding up the event for the Finn. Antonius was just two minutes late, but play restarted without him and he missed the first hand. Usually this wouldn't be a big issue, but with Antonius' dwindling stack it was certainly reason for concern.

After folding a few hands, and picking up the blinds and antes with a shove, Antonius just called a raise from the big blind. It was Timothy Adams who raised to 50,000 from the cutoff and after Antonius had made the call the flop brought {Q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}.

Antonius bet 50,000 and Adams moved all in instantly risking just 239,000 chips total. The Finn did not seem too happy, but after a few seconds he pushed his stack forward.

Antonius: {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Adams: {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

The board ran out {K-Clubs}, {10-Hearts} and Antonius found a way to double up. Adams is still up from his chip stack at the break while Antonius just got a lot more dangerous with just 12 players left.

Chip Counts During Dinner

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Antonius Races for Tournament Life

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

After unsuccessfully trying to bluff Timothy Adams, Patrik Antonius was left on a short stack. He recently committed for 125,000 after action folded to him in the cutoff, and Ole Schemion, who had just knocked out Daniel Negreanu, made the call. The blinds folded and the cards were turned over:

Antonius: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Schemion: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

It was a flip with Antonius looking to hold. The {2-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop not only kept him in the lead, it also gave him a flush draw to take away some of Schemion's outs. The {9-Spades} turn gave the German some counterfeit outs to a ten, but the {Q-Hearts} river was no help. Antonius, who is still relatively short, survived and made it to the dinner break.

Silverman: {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}

Daniel Negreanu

Mike McDonald raised under the gun to 40,000 and Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu called from middle position.

The action was folded to Ole Schemion who three-bet to 140,000 and McDonald folded quickly. Negreanu moved all in for 665,000 and Schemion called right away.

Negreanu: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Schemion: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{8-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and Negreanu was knocked out.

Antonius' Bluff Fails Against Adams

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Patrik Antonius

Timothy Adams opened for 40,000 under the gun and received a call from Patrik Antonius on the button. Mike McDonald came along from the big blind and three players saw a flop of {j-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. McDonald checked, Adams bet 90,000 and Antonius called. Adams got out of the way and then the dealer burned and turned the {8-Clubs}.

Adams slowed down with a check and called when Antonius bet 150,000. When the {5-Spades} completed the board on the river, Adams checked and Antonius slid out a big bet of 500,000, leaving himself just 140,000 behind. Adams seemed tortured by the big bet but eventually tossed in a single pink T25,000 chip to signify a call.

Antonius silently tabled the {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a missed open-ended straight draw, and that prompted Adams to roll over the {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} to win the monster pot.
