Reinkemeier Puts an End to Mizzi's Day

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Sorel Mizzi
Sorel Mizzi

Steve O'Dwyer opened the action for 40,000 only to have Sorel Mizzi, who re-entered once yesterday, three-bet all in for 290,000 from the small blind. Tobias Reinkemeier then moved all in over the top from the big and O'Dwyer got out of the way.

Reinkemeier: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Mizzi: {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

It was a bad spot for Mizzi, and his best chance of surviving was to catch an ace. The {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop provided no help, and neither did the {5-Hearts} turn. "Greenstein?" Mizzi asked, referring to the title of the Team PokerStars Pro's book Ace on the River. It was wishful thinking, but a wish that wouldn't come true as the {10-Hearts} blanked on the river. Mizzi hit the rail in 16th place.

Juanda Gets it in Good But Busts

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
John Juanda
John Juanda

Martin Finger raised preflop and the action was folded to John Juanda who three-bet from the big blind. Finger made the call and the flop brought {5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Spades}.

Juanda bet 110,000 on the flop and Finger decided to move all in.

Juanda was stunned and said "I should fold, but I don't think I can."

After a while he did make the call and ended up being right.

Finger: {8-Spades}{7-Spades}
Juanda: {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}

On the turn the {4-Diamonds} hit and the river was the {A-Diamonds} knocking out Juanda in 17th place. Finger is the chip leader with just 16 players left in the tournament and there is a redraw right now.

Reinkemeier Takes Some From Blom

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Tobias Reinkemeier
Tobias Reinkemeier

Tobias Reinkemeier raised from the small blind to 55,000 and Viktor Blom called from the big blind.

The flop brought {J-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and Reinkemeier bet 75,000 and Blom called.

On the turn the {A-Clubs} popped up and Reinkemeier checked to Blom who bet 145,000 after a slight pause. Reinkemeier went into the tank for a while but eventually he made the call.

The river brought the {8-Diamonds} and Reinkemeier checked once more. Blom checked behind and mucked when the German showed {A-Hearts}{3-Clubs}.

Schemion Knocks Out Chen

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Andrew Chen
Andrew Chen

We missed the hand when it happened, but we do know that Andrew Chen was just eliminated by the young German pro Ole Schemion. Chen got his stack all in preflop holding {a-}{k-} only to see Schemion wake up with {k-}{k-}. Chen failed to catch an ace and fell in 18th place.

Queens Again For Gross

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Jeff Gross woke up with pocket queens again and lost again too. Gross had just 120,000 chips left and ended up all in against Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu.

Negreanu: {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Gross: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}

The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and Gross was knocked out.
