Khoroshenin Extremely Crippled After Ill-Timed Bluff

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Ivan Soshnikov opened for 40,000 from the cutoff and received calls from Oleksii Khoroshenin and Olivier Busquet in the small and big blind respectively. When the flop came down {10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, Khoroshenin led out for 60,000, Busquet folded, and Soshnikov called.

After the dealer burned and turned the {9-Clubs}, Khoroshenin bet 75,000 and Soshnikov thought for a bit before dropping in a call. The {K-Spades} completed the board on the river and Khoroshenin bet once again, this time 90,000. Soshnikov woke up with a raise to 230,000 and Khoroshenin hit the tank for several minutes.

Eventually a clock was called and the floor began the countdown. After 30 seconds had passed, Khoroshenin announced that he was all in for 593,000 and Soshnikov snap-called off for 580,000 before tabling the {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for a flopped full house.

Khoroshenin tried to muck but since it was an all-in situation the dealer exposed his hand, which was the {5-Spades}{4-Spades}.

McDonald Doubles

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Mike McDonald moved all in on the first hand as the short stack and received a call from Thomas Muhlocker. McDonald had {k-Spades}{9-Hearts} and Muhlocker was slightly ahead with {a-Spades}{2-Hearts}. The dealer dealt out the five cards {8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. The river came to the rescue and McDonald doubled up.

Another record has been set for the European Poker Tour here in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic. A mixture of amateurs and professionals swelled the field of entrants to 137 unique entrants and 39 re-entries for a total number of 176 buy-ins to create a prize pool of €1,724,800. This means the winner will take home €382,050.

Dmitry Yurasov from Russia leads the way with 1,404,000, with Olivier Busquet from the USA in second place on 1,239,000 and Austria’s Thomas Muhlocker, who has 1,150,000, in third.

The short stacks are Ivan Soshnikov (313,000) and Mike McDonald (272,000), who both saw cruel river cards during the last level to knock them down the leader board. They are both playing just over 10 big blind stacks, so expect them to make a move early on. A finish in 10th place pays €32,800.

Vanessa Selbst is the only PokerStars Team Pro member to have made the final day with Eugen Katchalov bubbling late in the day, closely followed by Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier. Slebst returns with a stack of 850,000.

The players are currently 5 handed on two tables. After the first elimination there will be a re-draw for the final table of nine.

Some are predicting another long day ahead with potentially another 12 levels before we have a winner, while others are expecting a fast and furious aggressive shoot out. Either way it’s sure to be a fascinating day of poker with dramatic swings in fortune and intriguing table dynamics.

The only was to find out how it all pans out is to follow the action right here from 12 p.m CET as the PokerNews Live Reporting Team brings you the stories, big hands and bust outs as they happen.
