Blain Loses a Small Pot

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

On a board of {k-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} Aleksandr Tulaev from Russia, England’s Ryan Spittles and Ireland’s PokerStars player Dermot Blain were still holding cards. Checked to Blain, he made it 950 and Tualev got out of the way. Not Spittles though who raised him right back to 2,200. Blain paused for a respectable amount of time and released his cards.

Small One for Jorgensen

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Dylan Linde and Team PokerStars Pro Theo Jorgensen each put in 1,200 preflop and saw a flop of {3-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}. Jorgensen was in the small blind and checked, which prompted Linde to do the same from the button. The action was repeated on the {8-Diamonds} turn, and then Jorgensen bet 1,200 when the {8-Hearts} completed the board on the river. Linde silently flicked his cards to the dealer and it was on to the next hand,

Von Perger Perplexed

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

German PokerStars player Jamila Von Perger had raised to 400 before the flop and found two callers in Antonio Lafosse from Peru on the button and big blind Anders Ottosen from Denmark. A flop of {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and when it was checked to her Von Perger continued for 800. It wasn’t enough to shake off either player though who both called and we saw a three way turn card fall {q-Clubs}. Ottosen checked and Von Perger bet bigger, this time for 2,500. No dice, they both called and the final card was the {q-Diamonds}. For a third time Ottosen checked. This time though Von Perger checked and it was up to LaFosse. He bet out for 9,000 and Ottosen quickly folded. Von Perger took her time, although it was difficult for her to study her opponent who was in the one seat. Having mulled it over she folded with a slight sense of frustration at how the hand had played out.

Lovgren Caught Bluffing

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

On a {4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades} | {7-Diamonds} | {8-Diamonds} board the big blind had checked to Sofia Lovgren. She bet out 3,000 and the player on the button quickly folded. The big blind made the call however and Lovgren immediately said he had it. The big blind wasn't about to open his cards just yet, but he eventually did anyway after Lovgren mucked. The big blind showed his {7-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and grabbed the chips in the pot.

Hoping to Go Deep Again

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

The EPT Main Event hasn't been the only big tournament going on in Prague, the Eureka Poker Tour Main Event - a €1,100 buy-in event - played to its finale yesterday and a couple of players who went really deep are back for more today. Ami 'UhhMee' Barer, who was runner-up in that event is in the field today as is the highest finishing Czech player from that tournament, Jaroslav Peter, he finished fourth.

And Team PokerStars Pro Matti De Meulder, who finished 28th of the 1,315 runners, is another who's hoping his deep run hasn't been and gone. Someone who knows a thing or two about deep runs in Prague is Martin Finger, who won this event in 2011, he's just shown up. He was involved in a great game of EPT champion roulette as he weaved between tables looking for his seat. Eventually his ball landed on Table 49 and he sat down.

Katchalov Check-Raise

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov checked it over to German qualifier Markus Ross on a board of {3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Ross bet 625 and faced a check raise to 2,700. Ross looked briefly startled but pulled his hood around his neck and made the call. {2-Clubs} on the turn and Katchalov checked again. Ross gave it some thought and pushed out a bet of 2,525. The aggression of Katchalov faded and he folded his cards.

"Lucky Boy from Philadelphia!"

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

As we neared table 55 the turn was already out on the table: {4-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} | {A-Hearts}. Both Ankush Mandavia in the big blind and Yaacoub Jihad in the hijack checked to Paul Volpe in the cutoff, who bet out 2,025. Mandavia quickly folded but Jihad made the call. The river brought the {A-Spades} to the table and Jihad checked once more. Volpe bet out, what looked like, 3,700 and received a lightning fast all from his neighbor.

Volpe tabled {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} for runner runner fullhouse and Johad slammed his {5-Hearts}{10-Hearts} on the table with a big smile. "Lucky Boy from Philadelphia!" he said to Volpe who showed remorse but in the meantime was stacking the chips. Table 55 is a tough table, besides Volpe and Mandavia also Manig Loeser and Thomas Muhlocker are seated in that corner of the room.
