Nice Flop

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Francis-Nicolas Bouchard opened for 400 and found callers in Charles Chaya, Liv Boeree, the small blind and Victor Podofedenko. They saw a flop of {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and Bouchard led out for 600. Chaya called, Boeree folded, the small blind folded before Podofedenko made it 1,200 to go. Bouchard and Chaya both called. The {3-Diamonds} on the turn and Bouchard again led out for 1,200 when checked to, and this time got two callers. {4-Clubs} on the river, Check, check and this time it was the passive participant who came out firing, looking for 1,200. He got two callers. Podofedenko turned over his {a-Hearts}{j-Spades} more in hope than expectation and he was indeed behind the flopped full house of Chaya who tabled {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

No Need For Watts to Leave Yet

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

EPT Regular Steve Watts packed up his belongings into his white shoulder bag and looked all set to leave. He'd raised Jeton Alimusaj's flop bet of 1,750 to 5,000 - or at least part of 5,000, there was just a single blue chip in front of the betting line - and Alimusaj was considering his action.

The flop was {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{A-Clubs} so on the wetter side or rainy and Watts sensed a storm of action was coming. His weather radar was off this time though as Alimusaj pushed his cards into the muck. Pot to Watts.

Boeree Tens Knock Her Down to 10,000

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree

Liv Boeree's hitherto healthy stack has been reduced to just 10,000 after she tangled in a pot with Taylor Von Kriegenbergh. There were two limps to Von Kriegenbergh who raised it up to 1,000 from the cut-off, Boeree smooth called with pocket tens and Georgios Karakousis did likewise.

"The flop came {A-}{7-}{8-}," Boeree told me, "we both checked to Taylor he bet 2,000, I called and he (Karakousis) also called. The turn was a ten, Taylor bet 6,500 and I called. The river's a deuce I fake blocker bet 7,000, Taylor shoved for 20,000 and I called. He had nine-six, fun fun fun!"

Despite that dent Boeree still has 50 big blinds, whilst Von Kriegenbergh is up to around 62,000.

Marquez Tries to Bluff Ghatge

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

On a {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} | {2-Spades} board we just saw Ana Marquez bet out 1,300 from the small blind. Three folds later the decision was on Pratik Ghatge who made the call from the button. The river was the {K-Clubs} en Marquez now hand picked three red 1,000 chips and a purple 500 and slid that over the betting line. Ghatge had a real decision and took his time. Eventually he called and showed {7-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a missed open-ended. Ghatge tabled his {2-Spades}{4-Spades} for two pair and raked in the chips.

“You have it?”

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Jack Salter from England raised it to 500 from early position and got a couple of callers behind him in Hot Besim from Switzerland and Pasi Sormunen from Finland. The blinds folded and we saw a flop of {4-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. All three players checked and the turn was dealt {k-Hearts}. Salter made it 825, Besim called and Sormunen folded. Final card {4-Clubs}. Salter checked and Besim bet 1,400. Salter tapped the table and mucked as the expressionless Besim, earphones firmly in place, took the pot. Salter always likes to chat at the table and said to a player that he’s folded aces and he was sure his opponent had it. Urged to take an earphone out, Besim obliged and Salter asked him, “You have it?” A shrug was his only response. “Only the board?” Salter asked again. The headphones went back on.

Suited Dolly

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Andrey Shatilov, a Russian PokerStars player opened to 450, got called by Todd Terry from the USA, Team PokerStars Pro Dario Minieri and the big blind Sina Alamzad from Romania. The four players saw a flop of {4-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Alamzad bet right out from the big blind for 1,000. Shatilov folded but Terry made the call and last to act Minieri also folded. The turn was the {6-Spades}, bet 2,200 from Alamzad continuing the aggression and a call from Terry. The river was the [2] slowing Alamzad down, he checked and Terry checked behind. Alamzad tabled {10-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for the flopped flush and it was good until the end.

It’s been a miserable day so far for Minieri who has not seemed his usual ebullient self, unable to catch a break and finding little to smile about.
