Vandersmissen Pushes

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Andrey Shatilov raised to 25,000 from his button and found a three-bet to 63,000 from Kevin Vandersmissen from the next seat over. The big blind folded and action was back on Shatilov. He called to see a flop.

The dealer spread {7-Spades}{10-Spades}{A-Hearts} on the felt and Vandersmissen continued out for 55,000. Shatilov called and the {3-Hearts} fell on the turn. Vandersmissen announced an all in bet and Shatilov quickly ditched his cards.

Nikolaus Teichert Eliminated in 16th Place (€23,800)

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

On the {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop, Nikolaus Teichert was all in and at risk holding two over cards and a flush draw with the {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}. His opponent was Ihar Soika with the {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for top pair and a straight draw.

The turn gave Soika a straight when the {6-Diamonds} landed. That meant Teichert could only stay alive with a heart on the river, or he could hit a nine to chop the pot.

The river was the {K-Spades}, though, and Teichert was eliminated in 16th place.

Benefield Hits Full House To Double Through Jouhkimainen

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
David Benefield
David Benefield

David Benefield bet 42,000 on the {Q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{7-Diamonds} board. Thomas Muhlocker made the call, then Joni Jouhkimainen raised to 142,000. Benefield reraised all in for 266,000, and Muhlocker folded. Jouhkimainen made the call.

Jouhkimainen had turned a nine-high straight with the {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. Benefield had the {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} for a set of fives, so he could still improve to double up. The river was the {7-Spades} to pair the board, and Benefield did just that — he hit a full house to stay alive and double up.

Refos and Chartier Double Through Benefield

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Raoul Refos was all in pre flop for 138,000 with the {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades} against 2013 World Series of Poker November Niner David Benefield. Benefield held the {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. The board ran out {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, and Refos doubled up.

Shortly thereafter, Sam Chartier was all in for about 130,000 with pocket threes against Benefield's pocket tens. Chartier flopped a set of threes and held from there to double up. Benefield was left with 310,000 in chips.

Emil Mattsson Eliminated in 17th Place (€23,800)

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Emil Mattsson - 17th Place
Emil Mattsson - 17th Place

Jean-Noel Thorel opened with a raise from the cutoff only to have Emil Mattsson moved all in with a three-bet over the top. Action folded back to Thorel and he called. The two took to the community cards while racing for Mattsson's tournament life.

Mattsson: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Thorel: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

The board ran out {A-Clubs}{2-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{3-Spades} and Mattsson was claimed as a victim of Thorel's top two pair. He was eliminated from play in 17th place. Mattsson's elimination sparked a total redraw of the field for the final two tables.

Toby Lewis Eliminated in 18th Place (€21,150)

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Toby Lewis - 18th Place
Toby Lewis - 18th Place

Joni Jouhkimainen raised from his button to an unknown amount and Toby Lewis came over the top with a three-bet. Jouhkimainen moved Lewis all in and Lewis called roughly 350,000 for his tournament life.

Lewis: {A-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Jouhkimainen: {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}

Lewis seized a firm grip on the hand when he flopped top pair with the {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop. The {3-Spades} on the turn gave Jouhkimainen spade outs and that's exactly what he hit on the river. The {8-Spades} finished off the board and Lewis became a victim of Jouhkimainen's spade flush. Jouhkimainen raked in the pot and now has about 1.15 million.
