Morgenstern Falls

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Jonathan Duhamel opened with a raise to 12,000 and Jean-Noel Thorel called from the button. Anton Morgenstern shipped all in over the top for around 100,000 from the blind and Duhamel moved all in over the top. Thorel folded and the hands were tabled.

Duhamel: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}
Morgenstern: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

Duhamel was way out in front and kept his lead after a {10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop hit the felt. The {4-Spades} turned and Morgenstern was in need of a jack on the river to double up.

The river brought paint, but it was the {Q-Diamonds} and not a jack like Morgenstern required. He was sent home in 22nd place and Duhamel now sits around 620,000.

Big Flip Goes Thorel's Way

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

From under the gun, Jean-Noel Thorel raised to 18,000. Emil Mattsson reraised from the next seat to 40,000, then action folded to Team PokerStars Pro Jonathan Duhamel in the small blind. He reraised and made it 95,000 to go. Thorel moved all in for 353,000, and Mattsson folded. Duhamel called.

Duhamel held the {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} for two over cards to the {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} for Thorel. Following a runout of {6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, Thorel's pocket tens held up. He won the pot to double to more than 750,000 in chips. Duhamel was left with 340,000.
