Big Slick for the Slovak

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Petra Hruskova
Petra Hruskova

In a blind on blind confrontation Petra Hruskova got the last of her 214,000 chips in the middle against Nicolau Pacheco Villa-Lobos. Hruskova from Slovakia, who had qualified through a live satellite had {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} which looked pretty good against Villa-Lobos’ {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and so it proved as the board ran out {q-Spades}{a-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{q-Hearts} to give her the double up with 45 minutes of the day remaining.

Schulz Packs His Bags

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Action folded around to Kent Lundmark in the small blind and he announced a bet of all in. Kevin Schulz called for his tournament life of about 115,000 from the big blind and the hands were tabled.

Lundmark: {A-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Schulz: {Q-Spades}{8-Spades}

Schulz was dominated and in need of help to stay alive in this tournament. Unfortunately for the American, the board came down {9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{7-Spades}{K-Clubs}{K-Spades} and he was eliminated from play late in the day. Lundmark scored the knockout and that brings his stack up to 380,000.

Defending Champ on the Ropes

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

After Pasi Sormunen opened for 16,000 from middle position, defending champ Mikalai Pobal three-bet to 40,000 from the button. The blinds folded and then Sormunen called before checking the {9-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. Pobal took the opportunity to bet 35,000 and Sormunen said, "I thought you only had one bet."

He was referring to Pobal's short stack, and Sormunen took it upon himself to move all in. Pobal instantly released his hand.

Kolossow vs. Kotov

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Ivan Kotov got his stack of 130,000 or so all in preflop holding the {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and was flipping against the {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} of Stefan Tobias Kolossow.

Kotov got it in good, but the {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop hit Kolossow. Kotov was clearly upset and let out a long sigh. The {3-Diamonds} turn left him in need of a jack on the river, but he would receive no reprieve as the useless {9-Clubs} peeled off.

Inaugural EPT Champ Stevic Felled

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Alexander Stevic
Alexander Stevic

With less than half an hour remaining of Day 3 Alex Stevic has been knocked out of the tournament. Ten years after winning the very first EPT event held here in Barcelona, Stevic had been invited back to play by PokerStars, and he had a great run and been hugely popular at the tables.

He finally fell when he opened for 16,000 and was called in the big blind by PokerStars qualifier Kresten Nielsen. They saw a flop of {7-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. Nielsen asked him how much he had behind and Stevic counted it out exactly for him as 136,000. Nielsen bet 28,000 and Stevic moved all in. Nielsen called and turned over his two pair {10-Spades}{7-Spades}. “Nine or a club.” Said Stevic and showed his {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. The final two cards dealt were {7-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} giving Nielsen a full house on the turn

Ramage Eliminated By Markowski

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Grayson Ramage was all in with the {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} against the {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for Jacek Markowski. The flop came down {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} to give Ramage a lot more outs to go along with his two over cards. The turn was the {4-Diamonds} to pair the board, and the river was the {9-Spades}. Both of those missed Ramage, and he was eliminated.
