Action Abundant at Table 10

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We recently witnessed back-to-back hands at Table 10 that saw the elimination of two players.

In the first, Daniel Bass was all in before the flop for his last roughly 40,000 against big stack Michel Pecheux. Bass held {Q-Clubs}{10-Spades} but was crushed by Pecheux's {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

Bass found some hope by flopping an open-ended straight draw after {J-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{K-Clubs}, but nothing materialized as running deuces (the {2-Diamonds} and {2-Clubs}) came on the following streets. Bass was sent packing and Pecheux scooped up a pot that brought him up to about 730,000.

The very next hand, action folded around to Mario Vojvoda who moved all in from the small blind. Igor Izmaylov peeked at his cards and snapped him off, calling for his own tournament life. Vojvoda showed {K-Clubs}{8-Clubs} but threw his hands up in the air in disbelief when Izmaylov rolled over the best possible hand - {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}.

Vojvoda's disappointment would only be brief, however, as the flop of {8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} instantly awarded him with two pair. Izmaylov could only shake his head as the {4-Spades} fell on the turn and the {J-Hearts} on the river, cracking his aces and eliminating him from play. Vojvoda dragged in the pot and now has about 105,000.

Hansen Exits the Feature Table

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We missed the action, but we do know that Kjetil Hansen was just eliminated from the feature table when his {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} failed to overcome the {a-Spades}{k-Spades} of Kevin Vandersmissen. The board ended up running out {3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Spades} and Hansen made a hasty exit off the stage.

Daher Closing in on a Million

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We're not sure when the money went in (we think it was the turn), but we can confirm that chip leader Albert Daher just eliminated Steven Watts from the secondary feature table. The former held the {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} on a {6-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Spades}{a-Spades}{2-Spades} for a flopped straight, which bested the latter's {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}.

Huge Pot for Qualifier Middleton

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Two players with nearly even stacks of nearly 470,000 had contrived to get all the money in the middle pre flop. Grudi Hristov Grudev from Bulgaria held {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} but was crushed by PokerStars qualifier Thomas Middleton from the UK with the {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}. The flop ran out {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Grudev was left with just 3,000 chips while Middleton has rocketed up the leader board with a stack of 938,00.

Kroon Cracks Kings to Double

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Isisdoro Barrena raised to an unknown amount from early position and it folded around to Oscar Kroon who three-bet shipped all in from the big blind. Barrena snapped him off and the cards were turned over.

Barrena: {K-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Kroon: {A-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

Kroon caught his ace to jump into the lead on the {3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{A-Spades} flop and never gave up his lead as the {9-Hearts} turned and the {J-Spades} rivered. Kroon was able to double to around 245,000 while Barrena fell to 220,000.

Segebrecht Busted by Berglund

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Picking up with the action on the feature table, we found Lukas Berglund and Claas Segebrecht looking down at a board of {4-Spades}{3-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. Segebrecht was all in for his last 111,500 and called by Berglund.

Segebrecht: {10-Spades}{8-Spades}
Berglund: {Q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Berglund held top two and was looking to dodge Segebrecht's straight and flush outs. The river brought the {a-Diamonds} and Segebrecht saw a quick exit from the feature table. Berglund took down the pot and now has about 547,000.

Danchev Wins a Race to Stay Alive

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Dimitar Danchev
Dimitar Danchev

After Maximilian Senft raised from middle position, Dimitar Danchev three-bet all in for 114,000 from the button. The blinds folded and Senft made a quick call.

Danchev: {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Senft: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

It was a classic flip, and according to the PokerNews Odds Calculator, Danchev had a 54.82% chance of surviving the hand while Senft would come from behind 44.79% of the time.

The {q-Spades}{2-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop kept Danchev in the lead and made him the 73.73% favorite, and the {8-Diamonds} bumped that up to 86.36%. Senft needed either an ace or king on the river to steal the pot, and while that would happen 13.64% of the time, this was not one of them as the {10-Diamonds} peeled off.

Like Dominoes

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Since the bubble has burst players are falling thick and fast. On one table Lukasz Roczniak was all in with {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and was called by Kimmo Kurko with {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. Roczniak was at risk and the {8-Spades}{3-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} board couldn’t save him.

Just behind was another shout of all in and call. Alexander Jung had shoved with {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} and got a call from the big blind, PokerStars player Kenny Hallaert with {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. The cards fell {4-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{k-Spades}{k-Hearts} and Jung was busted. “I run good.” Said Hallert.
