Iacofano Doubles Through the Season 7 Champ

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Action folded to a short-stacked Kevin Iacofano in the cutoff and he moved all in for 63,000. Kent Lundmark, who won this event back in Season 7, called from the big blind and the cards were flipped on their backs.

Lundmark: {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Iacofano: {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Iacofano got it in good, but Lundmark was drawing to live cards. The {2-Spades}{a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} flop was kind to Iacofano as it paired his king, and the {a-Spades} turn actually guaranteed him the win as Lundmark was drawing dead. The meaningless {6-Diamonds} was put out on the river for good measure and Iacofano was shipped the double.

Daher Done and Dusted

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Albert Daher on Day 3.
Albert Daher on Day 3.

We missed the action, but a back-and-forth raising way saw Albert Daher get his stack of approximately 450,000 all in preflop against Madis Müür. Daher held the {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} in the big blind, while Müür tabled the {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} in the cutoff.

The look on Daher's face was one of discontent, and it got even worse when the {4-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{5-Clubs} gave Müür a set. Daher needed either running nines to win of running straight cards to chop, and he got a little sweat as the {2-Diamonds} turn made the chop possible. Unfortunately for him, the {10-Spades} river wasn't the three he was looking for and Daher was sent to the rail while Müür chipped up to a million in chips.

Day 4 Eliminations Thus Far

Eli Heath eliminated

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Eli Heath had raised under the gun and was called by Pasi Sormunen in the big blind. They saw a flop of [qd tsk kd]. Sormunen checked and when Heath continued for a small 24,000 Sormunen moved all in. Heath called and showed {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} for the flopped straight and Sormunen had two pair {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. The turn card {10-Hearts} gave Sormunen the full house though and the {5-Diamonds} on the river eliminated Heath.

Von Toperczer Busts

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Manuel Cuberos opened for 25,000 and the player to his left, Sebastian Von Toperczer moved all in. They both had very similar stack sizes with Cueboros just covering his opponent with 295,000 chips. Cueboros went deep in the tank, thinking for about five minutes before making the call. Von Toperczer turned over his {k-Spades}{j-Spades} and felt moved to comment “Slow roll.” When Cuberos tabled {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. The board ran out {j-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{4-Spades}{10-Hearts}{k-Hearts}. Von Toperczer’s two pairs beaten by the straight of Cuberos. Cuberos apologised for taking so long and was told to take all the time he needed.

Bad Start for Iacofano

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Things aren't going so well for Kevin Iacofano here on Day 4. He is seated at the feature table and seems to be bleeding chips.

In a recent hand, action folded to Iacofano on the button and he shoved all in. Eduard Bhaggoe quickly called off for 92,000 from the small blind, and after the big folded, the cards were turned up.

Iacofano: {8-Spades}{5-Spades}
Bhaggoe: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Iacofano held live cards, but little good they did him as the board ran out {9-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} to give Bhaggoe the double.

Blain Finds Aces for a Double

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Action folded to Alejandro Belluccia on the button and he opened for 20,000. Dermot Blain flatted in the small blind, and then Jacek Markowski opted for a three-bet to 77,000 from the big. Belluccia made the call and then Blain announced that he was all in for 241,000.

Markowski thought for a few moments before making the call, and then Belluccia released his hand.

Blain: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Markowski: {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

Blain was well ahead and stayed there as the board ran out {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}.

Benoni Bounced

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

With around 75,000 in the pot and a board reading {6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, a raising war saw Henri Benoni get his stack of approximately 230,000 in the pot holding the {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and he was up against the {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flopped set of Italy's Francesco Delfoco.

The {2-Clubs} turn completed Benoni's straight draw, and Delfoco let out a bit of a moan. His disappointment was short lived however as the {5-Clubs} river paired the board to give him a winning boat. As Delfoco celebrated, Benoni let out a long and desperate, "Nooooooo."
