Greenwood Wins a Flip to Double Up

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Glib Kovtunov and Max Greenwood got it all in pre flop and Greenwood was at risk with {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} versus Kovtunov’s {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}. The flop was kind to Greenwood with {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} and he sealed the deal with the last two cards coming {4-Hearts} {8-Clubs} to give him quads and a double up. Kovtunov was crippled and left with just 175,000.

Middleton Eliminates Souza

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

A preflop raising war resulted in Douglas Souza getting his stack of 620,000 all in preflop holding the {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} only to run into the {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} of Tom Middleton.

Souza was on his feet and calling for a ten, but the dealer did not oblige putting out a board of {2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{j-Hearts}{q-Spades}. Souza was left shaking his head and a €18,200 consolation prize for his 50th-place finish.

Ruess Falls in 49th Place

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Max Ruess was all in preflop for his last 270,000 holding the {a-Spades}{2-Spades} and in big trouble against the {a-Clubs}{10-Spades} of Emilio Jimenez Bueno.

The {2-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} flop paired Ruess' deuce, but it also gave Bueno a pair of tens. The {8-Spades} turn opened up flush possibilities for Ruess, but the {K-Hearts} river wouldn't fulfill them. Instead, Bueno was eliminated in 49th place for €18,200.

Onuchin Done in by Pocket Rockets

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

The preflop specific escaped us, but we don know that Yakov Onuchin got his 307,000 stack all in holding the {a-Spades}{q-Spades} only to run into the {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} of Kimmo Kurko.

It was a tough spot for Onuchin, though the {10-Spades}{k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop did give him a gutshot draw to a jack. The {Q-Clubs} turn actually made it so a jack would result in a chop, but Onuchin could still catch a queen to win. The dealer burned one last time and put out the {A-Clubs}. The case ace improved Kurko to a full house, which sent Onuchin to the rail.

Clubbing with Tom Middleton

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Julian Thomas opened under the gun for 50,000 and got a call from Tom Middleton in the big blind. They saw a flop of {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and they both checked. The turn card came {5-Clubs} and again the two players checked. When the dealer dealt a {7-Clubs} Middleton decided to ask Thomas a serious question and bet 150,000. Thomas took a long time to decide. Middleton either had it or he didn’t. Either way the bet worked and Thomas couldn’t bring himself to pay the price to see.
