Silverman vs. Duhamel at Feature Table

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The feature table is being live streamed on pokerstars.tv, which you can view by clicking here. Our access is a bit limited, but we did manage to catch a big hand between Steven Silverman and Jonathan Duhamel.

It began when Silverman opened for 4,500 from the button and Duhamel three-bet to 15,000 from the small blind. The big folded, Silverman called and the flop came down {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. Duhamel continued for 19,000, Silverman called and the dealer burned and turned the {K-Clubs}.

Duhamel fired once again, this time 34,500, and Silverman made the call. When the {7-Hearts} completed the board on the river, the Team PokerStars Pro checked and Silverman took the opportunity to put out a big bet. It did the trick as Duhamel quickly released his hand.

Show if I fold?

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Philip Sternheimer opened the action from early position and got one caller in Steve O’Dwyer. The two of them saw a flop of {5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. Sternheimer continued for 14,000 and O’Dwyer called. The turn was the {8-Diamonds}, this time Sternheimer checked and it was O’Dwyer who did the betting to the tune of 30,000. A call from Sternheimer and we saw a river card {3-Diamonds}. Sternheimer changed tack and led out for 33,300 and perhaps regretted it when O’Dwyer raised him to 82,000.

Sternheimer asked O’Dwyer how much he had behind and discovered it wasn’t a whole lot more. For his part Sternheimer had 120,000 behind so it was a critical decision. Both players had taken a strange line in the hand and it was left to Sternheimer to the one who faced the final confusing decision. He took several minutes to decide. “Will you show if I fold?” he asked at one point, but O’Dwyer sat still as a rock, hand over his mouth.

Sternheimer folded and after the chips were pushed to him O’Dwyer quietly slid his cards, face down, to the dealer. No show.

Demjan Doubles Through Liviu

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

With 14,000 in the pot and a flop of {9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{10-Hearts}, a short-stacked Sandor Demjan bet 12,000 from the small blind only to have Ignat "0Human0" Liviu raise to 36,000. Demjan only had 17,000 behind and wasted little time in committing it to the pot.

Demjan: {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Liviu: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

Demjan was behind preflop but managed to take the lead with a seven on the flop. The {4-Hearts} turn made things interesting as Liviu picked up a flush draw, but the {6-Diamonds} river failed to help him. Demjan's pair of sevens held and he received a much-needed double.

Smith Trips Up

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Max Lehmanski
Max Lehmanski

Max Lehmanski opened under the gun for 5,100 and found a solitary caller in Dan Smith from mid position. They saw a flop of {10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. Lehmanski continued after some thought for 6,800 and got the call from Smith. The {6-Hearts} on the turn and Lehmanski saw no reason to slow down betting 18,000 this time. Again Smith called and we saw a river {10-Spades}. Lehmanski took his time and with his suspicions seemingly aroused checked it. Smith duly bet 42,000. Lehmanski took some time before calling the bet and it was costly curiosity as Smith turned over {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for the rivered trips.

Yong Makes a Move on Stern

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We missed the majority of the action, but we did see Richard Yong with the all-in button out in front of him on a board reading {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. There was a considerable amount already pulled into the middle and action was on Dani Stern.

He seemed taken aback by the shove, but soon released his hand. Yong couldn't help himself and proudly tabled the {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Despite having two pair, Yong looked at it as more of a bluff.

"Wow," Jason Mercier said before joking, "You though you had pocket sixes."

Yong laughed it off, assured him that wasn't the case and then collected the pot.
