Lehmanski Falls

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Max Lehmanski limped on the button and the small blind completed. Steve O'Dwyer made it 36,000 to go from the big blind and Lehmanski came over the top with an all in bet of 178,000 total. The small blind quickly released and O'Dwyer thought for a moment. Eventually, he tossed out a call and the hands were turned up.

O'Dwyer: {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Lehmanski: {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

According to the PokerNews Odds Calculator, O'Dwyer was 56.9% to take down this hand and his odds skyrocketed after he paired his ace on the {3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} flop. The {2-Hearts} hit the turn leaving Lehmanski hoping for a four to chop and stay alive in the tournament. The river, however, was the {Q-Spades}, and Lehmanski was eliminated from play. O'Dwyer picked up the pot, scored the elimination, and now sits around 765,000.

Lunkin at Risk on the Flop All In

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

In pre flop raising war it was Steve O’ who got the last bet in against Vitaly Lunkin who faced a decision for all his chips. Lunkin made the call and tabled {a-Spades}{k-Spades} against O’Dwyer’s {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}. The flop fell {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Lunkin had to fade the club on the last two cards and was relieved to see {j-Hearts} {2-Hearts}. Chop it up guys.

Lichtenberger vs. Mercier

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

With 67,000 in the pot and a board reading {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, Andrew "Lucky Chewy" Lichtenberger bet 35,000 from the small blind and Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier rolled his eyes and then tossed in the chips. Mercier tabled the {k-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for two pair with no kicker, but it was good as Lichtenberger sent his cards to the muck unseen.

Thorel Doubles Through Yong

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

We arrived at the table just in time to see Jean-Noel Thorel all in and at risk before the flop for his last 94,000 against Richard Yong. Thorel held {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} and was well ahead of Yong's {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}. The board ran out {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Thorel was able to secure a double up to around 200,000 in chips. Yong, on the other hand, has fallen to around 115,000.

Jens Kyllonen
Jens Kyllonen

From the hijack seat, Mike Watson raised to 14,000. Sandor Demjan called on the button, then Jens Kyllonen reraised to 52,000 from the big blind. Watson reraised to 104,000, and that knocked Demjan out of the pot. Kyllonen moved all in for 249,000, and Watson quickly made the call.

Watson showed the {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} for a flip against the at-risk Kyllonen's {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. The flop, turn, and river ran out {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{4-Clubs} to bust Kyllonen and move Watson to 645,000 in chips.

Silverman Ousted from the Feature Table

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Steve Silverman
Steve Silverman

Our access to the feature table is limited, and it appears since our last pass that Steven Silverman has been eliminated. From what we could piece together, Andrew Lichtenberger got his stack of 110,000 all in preflop holding the {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and was called by Silverman, who held the {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. Lichtenberger's hand got there and Silverman was left with just 12,000.

In the very next hand, Silverman got it in with the {10-Spades}{6-Spades} and was up against the {j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} of Frederik Jensen. The {k-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Spades} flop gave Silverman a flush and the guaranteed double. One hand later, Silverman got it in holding the {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and was once again called by Jensen, who was holding {k-}{j-}. The {4-}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop gave Silverman a flush draw, which he needed to hit after a {K-} turn gave Jensen a pair of kings. The {2-} on the river was not a heart and that was all she wrote for Silverman.

Silverman won the inaugural World Poker Tour Alpha8 event $100,000 event at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida just a few days ago and subsequently passed Paul Volpe on the 2013 Global Poker Index Player of the Year leader board. Unfortunately for him, Silverman won't be adding anymore GPI points in this event.

Newey Doubles Through Kurganov

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Igor Kurganov busted in the last hand of the night on Day 1 in a brutal set-over-set situation, but he has re-entered here on Day 2. Unfortunately for him, his luck hasn't changed thus far.

In a recent hand, there was about 60,000 in the pot and a board reading {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts} when Paul Newey moved all in from the big blind for 75,000. Kurganov was on the button and he thought long and hard before making the call with the {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for top pair. Newey then rolled over the {q-Clubs}{10-Spades} for top pair with a better kicker.

The {2-Hearts} river missed Kurganov and Newey doubled through the German.
