A New Champion Will Be Crowned

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Davidi Kitai has just been knocked out. Under unknown circumstances he was eliminated when his deuces failed to hold up against {K-}{Q-}. Kitai was all in for 129,000 chips and missed out on a chance for a big double up.

The elimination of Kitai means that we will crown a new winner this year in Berlin.

It's Aidonopoulos' Day

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Ismail Erkenov open-shoved for roughly 30,000 in early position, Gregor Daniel re-shipped for 180,000 on the button, and Theodoros Aidonopoulos snap-called in the big blind, having both players covered.

Erkenov: {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Daniel: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Aidonopoulos: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

The aces held as the board came {6-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{j-Spades}{7-Clubs}, and Aidonopoulos recorded a double knockout.

"I guess it's my day," the Greek player said with a smile.

Kitty Has Nine Lives

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Kitty Kuo was all in and at risk before the flop holding {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Unfortunately for Kuo, she was crushed by Oliver Langner's {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}.

The flop brought down {3-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Kuo was still mining for an eight to stay alive. She caught exactly that when the {8-Clubs} fell down on fourth street.

"Nice catch!" someone chimed in from across the table. Langer, on the other hand, buried his head in his hands.

The {9-Diamonds} finished off the board and Kuo was able to double up to about 140,000.

The board ran out {4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{K-Spades}{K-Hearts} and Kamutzki was eliminated in the first payout level.

Do Yo Thang

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Lijo Lander, who sat out during the bubble, not wanting to risk his 50,000-chip stack, moved all in on a flop of {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} with {q-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. He was called by Thang Duc Nguyen, who held {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for the second-nut flush, and Nguyen held as the turn and river came {10-Spades}, {k-Spades} respectively.

Lander hit the rail, while the first-ever EPT Baden winner now sits with 315,000 chips.
