A quick walk down one row of tables finds last year's EPT Deauville Main Event champion Vadim Kursevich sitting relatively comfortably with an above average stack of about 45,000 at present. Kursevich claimed a handsome €875,000 first prize for last year's win.

One table over we find the man Kursevich defeated heads-up last year, Paul Guichard. Guichard — who won €557,000 for finishing runner-up a year ago — likewise has increased his stack today to sit with about 48,000 at the moment.

While both Kursevich and Guichard have gotten off to decent starts today, their afternoons haven't gone quite as well as that of [Removed:4]. The German player is sitting at another table along the same row as those two, having already amassed about 185,000 chips, easily the biggest stack in the room thus far today.
