Kenney Jams Flop

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Three players took a flop of {3-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, including a short-stacked Bryn Kenney, Sandra Naujoks, and Axel Junker. The action checked to Junker, who bet 3,625, and Kenney moved all in for 9,425. Naujoks released, and Junker went deep into the tank.

Despite getting nearly 4:1 on his money, the German opted to fold, and Kenney now sits with 17,900 chips.

Lex Veldhuis
Lex Veldhuis

Team PokerStars Pro Lex Veldhuis opened to 1,300 in middle position, Tamer Kamel called on his direct left, and the rest of the players folded behind. The flop came {a-Spades}{4-Spades}{7-Clubs}, Veldhuis continued for 1,300, and Kamel made the call.

The {9-Diamonds} turned, Veldhuis opted to check, and Kamel fired 2,800. Veldhuis called.

The river was the {3-Diamonds}, both players checked, and Kamel showed {j-Spades}{9-Spades} for a pair of nines. Veldhuis had that beat with {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a pair of aces, and the Dutchman raked in the pot.

Little Gems

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
  • Andrew Pantling and his full house managed to oust Gus Hansen off his hand. The former raised to 1,050 from under the gun and Hansen called from the hijack to see a {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop appear. "Ooo, nice flop!" said Hansen before he called a 2,000 c-bet. The turn fell {5-Spades} and Hansen folded to a 3,500 bet flashing the {9-Spades}. Pantling flashed pocket eights.
  • Jake Cody has found a couple of mates at the bar to drown his sorrows with. Fellow Brits Martins Adeniya and Ben Vinson have also busted.
  • Maybe Tim Reilly has revenge on his mind. He's found himself sat at Vojtech Ruzicka's table who beat him heads-up in the EPT High Roller tournament in Deauville last month. Reilly has 42,000 compared to Ruzicka's 84,000.

First Aid-o

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Sergio Aido, who won the UKIPT final yesterday looks to be the current chip leader as he's over the 200,000 mark already. It's already proving to be a remarkable week for the Spaniard, who also chopped a £1,000 turbo event after Day 3 of the UKIPT. This basically means he's undefeated in poker tournaments so far this week.

Faraz Jaka just doubled through Ilari Sahamies with unknown action. Jaka was at risk for 25,000 chips or so holding {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}, and held on a board of {2-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

Jaka now sits with 50,000 chips, while Sahamies is still very healthy with around 90,000.

Mike McDonald
Mike McDonald

Four bets went in preflop between Fraser Macintyre and Mike McDonald before the dealer fanned {5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. The pair checked, and the turn brought the {4-Hearts}. Macintyre checked, McDonald fired 6,625, and Macintyre made the call.

The {q-Clubs} completed the board, Macintyre checked again, and McDonald bet 16,125. Macintyre made the call, prompting McDonald to rip over {5-Spades}{4-Spades} for a turned two pair.

Macintyre mucked, and McDonald is now above 100,000 chips.
