Tepper Trapping

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

Jean Tepper from France opened the action for 650 and found a call from Albert Daher in the cut-off, Ludovic Geilich on the button and the big blind. They saw a flop of {3-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{4-Hearts}. Tepper checked and Daher bet 1,600. Tepper was the only caller. They both checked the turn card {4-Diamonds} and a {j-Hearts} on the river prompted Tepper to bet 3,600. Daher raised an eyebrow and made the call. Tepper showed him {3-Spades}{3-Clubs} for the flopped set, turned full house and Daher conceded the pot. Daher may have come to play but he couldn’t beat that house.

Truong Out Pipped and Out

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante
Phu Truong
Phu Truong

Not quite the end of the second level and we have another bust out. Phu Truong was all in with {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and got called by {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}. Neither had a huge amount of chips but it was Truong with the worst hand who was at risk. The dealer did the dealing and the final result {3-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{j-Spades}{2-Hearts}{j-Clubs} meant that Truong was headed for the exit. It remains to be seen whether he will buy back in.

Heavy Metaal

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

A chunky double up for Dutch GPI player of the year, Govert Metaal. He was all in on the river of a {J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Spades}{8-Clubs} board against Carl Johanson who had {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}. Metaal turned over {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} having rivered trips to move him up to almost 70,000.

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier had three-bet preflop against Ivan Soshnikov, who had recently won the EPT Prague High Roller. He called and they saw a flop of {k-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades}. Check from Soshnikov who then called a bet of 1,800 from ElkY. A turn {q-Clubs} was checked to Elky who bet 4,200 and won the pot from the young Russian.

Paris 'Eighting' Life

Dominik Panka
Dominik Panka

Bryan Paris just can't catch a break against PCA Champion Dominik Panka. Paris called 8,000 on the turn of a {J-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} board against the Polish player before both players cautiously checked the third club river which was the {3-Clubs}.

Panka showed {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Paris flashed the case {8-Spades}, having been outkicked. It might be one of those days...

Daher Came to Play

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

Albert Daher had three-bet from the small blind to 2,200 when Jerome Fougeron opened. Geilich folded the big blind and they saw a flop of {2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades}. Daher continued for 2,150 and Fougeron called. The turn card was the {j-Clubs} and Daher kept the pressure on with a 2,900 bet. Fougeron didn’t seem to like the situation and threw his cards in.

AA Recovery

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante
Abdulaziz Abdulaziz
Abdulaziz Abdulaziz

Abdulaziz Abdulaziz seemed to have lost over half his stack and was saying good naturedly, “Why didn’t I miss the first hand?” But it wasn’t long before he managed to grab a bit of that back. On a board reading {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} Dario Sammartino bet 600 into quite a large pot and was called by Marcelo Fonseca and Abdulaziz. The river was the {3-Hearts} and Sammartino now bet 3,400. Fonseca folded and when Abdulaziz called Fonseca uttered a hopeful, “Four?” to declare his hand. Abdulaziz flipped over the {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts} and picked up a decent pot. As he stacked his chips he looked at the next hand dealt and folded, laughing, “Only one per hour my friend.”

Abdulaziz has a 9-9-9 Emergency

Level 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

Three-way to a flop of {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts} saw Dario Sammartino and Marcelo Fonseca check the board across to button raiser Abdulaziz Abdulaziz (so good they named him twice).

Abdulaziz bet 1,000 before Sammartino made it 2,600 out of the small blind. Fonseca now reraised to make it 4,400 and Abdulaziz came in with a fourth bet on the flop to 11,600. Sammartino thought for a moment before folding and Fonseca moved all-in. Abdulaziz made the call.

Fonseca: {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}
Abdulaziz: {A-Spades}{9-Spades}

"I had 9-7," said Sammartino.

The {6-Clubs} turn and {5-Diamonds} river couldn't make Abdulaziz a better full house and the Brazilian player doubled up.
