You're Allowed to Min Raise

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

In France there are specific laws for poker. There used to be a rule where you had to make a raise double the amount of what the player before you made it. So if a player in level 100/200 made it 500, you had to make it a 1,000 minimum, not 800 like in most of the rest of the world. They changed that rule this year however, the EPT Main Event is one of the first events in France where making small three and four bets are allowed now.

Hakim Wins a Small Pot

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

After one limper for 200 under the gun, Jeffrey Hakim made it 600 under the gun plus one. That scared everyone but the limper, he tossed in another four one hundred chips and saw a flop. With {9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts} on the table the under the gun player check called a 600 bet. Both players continued to check the {9-Diamonds} on the turn and {K-Clubs} on the river. No action anymore so the preflop limper had to show first. He tabled {3-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Hakim took it down showing {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}.

Soul-ed Short

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Fabrice Soulier was looking rather happy with a stack of 47,000 just a few minutes ago but that has all changed now after he was knocked back down when he lost a big pot to Alberto Fiorilla. Soulier had bet 7,000 on the end of a {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{K-Diamonds} board before the Italian moved all in for 24,000 with another 10,000 or so already in the middle.

Soulier ended up folding but still has above-average chips.

Isaia’s Turn to Get Clubbed

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Zoltan Purak bet 3,300 from the big blind on the turn card, and was called by Alessio Isaia who had the button. There had already been a bet and a call on the flop and the board now read {k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} with just over 12,000 in the pot. The river card was the {2-Clubs}. Purak had four grey 5k chips left and he rolled them around between his fingers contemplating his next move. He announced his bet, “Six thousand.” and threw two of them on the felt. Isaia thought long and hard and made the call. Purak tabled {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for the rivered king high flush and was pushed the pot as Isaia mucked his cards having taken a dent to his stack.

Winning by a Daher's Breadth

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

On the turn of a {9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{A-Clubs} board, Albert Daher fired a bet of 3,900 and Steven Comte made the call to see the {9-Spades} on the river.

Daher now fired 9,200 and Comte instantly called.

Daher flipped {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} for a full house and a frustrated Comte turned over {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} for the nut flush.

"It plays itself," offered Daher.

Ace Deuce for Nassif

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

From the cutoff position Gabriel Nassif opened for 500. Turkish player Orpen Kisacikoglu made the call from the button and John O'Shea in the big blind came along as well. {Q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts} on the flop and everyone checked. O'Shea checked again on the {A-Clubs} on the turn and Nassif bet 800. Kisacikoglu called in position and O'Shea folded. The {5-Clubs} hit the river and Nassif now checked. Kisacikoglu bet 1,150 and Nassif made the call. Kisacikoglu showed {Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts} but that hand ended up in the muck, Nassif showed {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and took it down.
