Kelly Makes Quads

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Joseph Mezailles opened to 1,500 from early position and JP Kelly called to see a {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop. Mezailles fired 3,000 and Kelly made the call to see the {Q-Clubs} on the turn.

Mezailles checked and Kelly bet 3,400 which Mezailles called.

The river was the {3-Diamonds} and Mezailles checked again. Kelly bet 12,000 with only about 5,000 back. Mezailles didn't take too long to call and Kelly immediately showed {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} for flopped quads. Mezailles flashed {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} for the overpair.

Bruel to be Kind

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Hadrien Gallois doesn’t have a whole lot of chips left, starting with around 10,000, and he opened this pot for 1,200. Sat to his left with a rather larger stack, Patrick Bruel made the call and the blinds folded. A flop of {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades} and Gallois continued for 2,100. Bruel called. The turn was the {2-Spades} and when Gallois checked, Bruel bet 6,000, Gallois looked glum and mucked. To ease his mind Bruel showed him the {9-Hearts}. To be honest I’m not sure it helped much.
