Next Time

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

From the small blind Jerome Zerbib moved all in. Big blind Giuliano Bendinelli asked for the count (30k) and began agonising over the correct decision. He twisted his mouth, hunched his shoulders and eventually flipped over {k-Clubs} for a fold. Zerlib showed him the {3-Hearts}. For good measure he showed him the {5-Clubs} too. “Next time.” Zerbib said, happy with his bluff shove.

Gotta Katch 'em All

Eugene Katchalov
Eugene Katchalov

Team PokerStars Pro Eugene Katchalov opened to 4,000 preflop from late position and Bruno "Cool Shen" Lopes made it 11,000 from the big blind. Katchalov made the call to see a {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop where Lopes bet 8,500.

Katchalov made the call to see the {Q-Spades} on the turn. Lopes now checked and Katchalov bet 16,500. Lopes check-raised all in and Katchalov called instantly.

Lopes: {A-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Katchalov: {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}

The river was the {4-Diamonds} and Lopes was eliminated. Katchalov has a huge stack now.

Hallaert Not So Lucky

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Kenny Hallaert had a seventy percent chance of a 110,000 stack, he told us with a big smile. Instead he now plays a stack of around 45,0000 after his kings were outrun by someone's ace-king. Hallaert is staying active, we'll keep our eyes on the Belgian poker manager, poker player, poker commentator and poker instructor.

Niels Van Leeuwen
Niels Van Leeuwen

Niels van Leeuwen broke French hearts when he emerged victorious in the FPS Main Event. But after celebrating through the night, he played Day 1B of the Main Event with a hangover, requiring frequent trips to the bathroom, and ran up a big stack again. PokerStars blog meets the Dutchman, who has made a dramatic splash at his first EPT.

Abdellatif In His Element

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Jonathan Abdellatif might not ring a bell for most readers, but people active in the Belgian poker scene surely have heard of him. We don't call him Shirley, we call him a Belgian serial casher. He's cashed in lots of tournaments in his home country and already cashed here this week as well, 8th for €4,230 in the €1,000 Turbo 8 Handed tournament.

Abdellatif started out with 76,600 this morning but has about three times that right now. Abdellatif is by far the chattiest person at the table, something that happens to him more often than not.

He told us he didn't just win one big pot, so we assume he won a lot of smaller ones. The biggest pot he won was the one where he knocked out Robert Auer. The German regular, who qualified for this tournament online, shoved over a hijack minimum raise open. Abdellatif woke up with kings behind him and had one of the easier decisions in his life. Abdellatif won from {A-}{3-} and Auer made his exit while the Belgian up and comer started stacking again.
