Watson Downed by Torelli

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Mike Watson
Mike Watson

Justin Bonomo opened to 10,000 from the cutoff before Mike Watson moved all in for 72,500 in the small blind. Alec Torelli got a count in the big blind before making the call and Bonomo quickly got out of the way.

Watson: {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}
Torelli: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The board came {6-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} as Torelli rivered a pair of queens to send Watson out of the tournament.

"Just the one for me this time," said Watson, indicating he was unlikely to re-entering this tournament.

Shakerchi Still Short

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

We arrived at the table as Talal Shakerchi was facing off against Mike Watson. Shakerchi really didn’t have much behind but there was a bet of 11,000 in front of him and the flop was {2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}.

Watson put him to the test for the rest of his chips and Shakerchi made the call with his flopped pair {6-Hearts}{5-Spades} and a gutshot. Watson tabled {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}.

The turn {7-Clubs} and river {9-Clubs} saw Shakerchi survive and double up his short stack.

Altergott's Check-Raise Fails

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Max Altergott
Max Altergott

Max Altergott was the single caller to Igor Kurganov's three-bet of 25,500 after the latter had squeezed from the button. The flop came {10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, Altergott checked and Kurganov wanted to know how much his opponent had left.

Altergott moved back his arms and Kurganov, seemingly satisfied, bet 27,500. Altergott check-raised to 55,000 but Kurganov made the call to see the {4-Hearts} on the turn. Altergott checked a second time and Kurganov responded by betting 65,000 this time but the winner of this event last year quickly folded.

Altergott Doubles Through Seidel

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

According to Pokernews' own hostess Sarah Grant, just before the break Max Altergott doubled through Erik Seidel with {A-}{K-} against {Q-}{Q-} after all the money went in preflop and Altergott rivered an ace on a {4-}{10-}{10-}{J-}{A-} board. Seidel was crippled as a result

Haxton Bets Big

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Timothy Adams bet 8,000 when it folded to him on the button. Isaac Haxton raised to 30,000 from the small blind and when Adams called the two players went to the flop:

{5-Spades}{j-Clubs}{6-Clubs}.

Haxton continued the aggression for 32,000 and Adams made the call.

The turn card was the {9-Hearts} and Haxton thought for just over a minute before betting big, 110,000.

Adams let it go.
