Welcome to Day 2 of the 2014 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final Main Event

Day 1a saw 214 players enter and 106 of those still had chips in front of them after the first eight 75-minute levels of play. On Day 1b 427 players entered and 241 made it through to Day 2. Those numbers combined make for a total of 641 entrants so far and 347 still active, with an average chip stack of a little over 55,400. Registration is open till the start of Day 2 though, so there might just be some players entering and boosting the total amount of entrants.

Though there have been no official announcements, in the most of European Poker Tour Season 10 Main Events there were six 75-minute levels of play scheduled for the second day of play. With eight on Day 1 and six on Day 2, that would take care of the 75-minute levels as the EPT Main Event structure makes the transition to 90-minute levels from level 15 and onward.

Leading the pack of 347 remaining players is Hendrik Latz with 191,600 in chips. His biggest cash to date is his 54th place in this very event last year, a deep run that banked him €18,500. The shortest of them all is PokerStars Team Pro Liv Boeree who has just 6,200 in chips. The first level to be played on Day 2 is level 9 (400/800 with a 100 ante) which gives Latz 240 big blinds at the moment, while Boeree will have to do with a little short of 8 big blinds.
