Zack Puchkov'd

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

After Marc-Andre Ladouceur raised the button and Konstantin Puchkov called from the small blind, Daniel Zack moved all in for 46,800 from the big. Ladouceur folded, and Puchkov shrugged before tossing in a chip to signify a call.

Puchkov: {10-Spades}{9-Spades}
Zack: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Zack was ahead, but Puchkov was drawing to live cards. The {j-Spades}{k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop gave Zack a pair of jacks, but Puchkov picked up an open-ended straight draw. The {6-Clubs} turn was harmless, but the {7-Clubs} river wasn't. Puchkov spiked his straight and Zack suddenly found himself busto.

Karamalikis vs. Danchev

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

While Ami Barer was being eliminated at one table, another player found himself all in at another. We're talking about Australian Jonathan Karamalikis, who shoved for his last 26,100 with the {j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} only to run into the {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} of EPT9 PCA champ Dimitar Danchev.

Karamalikis was in big trouble, and he stood in preparation for his exit when the {k-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop failed to deliver. He paused when the {9-Spades} turn gave him outs, but the {K-Hearts} river wasn't what he needed.

Karamalikis and Barer exited the tournament floor together, no doubt informing the other of the specifics surrounding their demise.

The 2014 Aussie Millions Champ Falls

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Ami Barer
Ami Barer

After the cutoff opened for 6,000, 2014 Aussie Millions Main Event winner Ami Barer three-bet to a hefty 63,000. With less than 30,000 behind, he was basically signaling that he was all in. The small blind folded, but then Artem Litvinov moved all in from the big for 93,000 or so. The initial raiser folded and Barer called off.

Barer: {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}
Litvinov: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {8-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{k-Spades} and that was all she wrote for Barer.

O'Dwyer Eliminated by Litvinov

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

Artem Litvinov was one of the shortest stacks on the remaining four tables and raised to 6,500 at the very end of the previous level. Steve O'Dwyer moved all in two seats over and Litvinov called off with slightly more chips.

Showdown:

Litvinov: {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}
O'Dwyer: {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

The EPT9 Grand Final champion was ahead preflop but the {7-Spades}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{K-Clubs} board saw his opponent improve with the last community card.

Smith and Busquet double

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Olivier Busquet
Olivier Busquet

Two double ups within the last three minutes. First Elliot Smith three-bet shoved with the {K-Spades}{A-Hearts} for 61,700 and was called by Jonathan Karamalikis with the {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}. The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{A-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and Smith doubled back up after a dry level.

Andrea Dato is now one of the short stacks after Olivier Busquet doubled through him. The Frenchman three-bet shoved out of the big blind for 44,900 with the QcQs]. Dato called with the inferior {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and was unable to improve with the board running out {J-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}.

Metalidi Massacred

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

A short-stacked Artem Metalidi moved all in from the hijack for his last 14,100 and action folded around to start-of-the-day chip leader Alexander Kopylkov in the big blind. He didn't seem excited, but since it wasn't too much more to him, he made the call.

Kopylkov: {j-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}
Metalidi: {7-Spades}{5-Spades}

Metalidi was behind, but he was drawing to two live cards. Unfortunately for him, the board ran out a dry {6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{q-Hearts} and he was eliminated from the tournament.

Sammartino On The Rail

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Dario Sammartino just lost a big pot against Tamer Kamel and was very short. Kamel min-raised from under the gun, and one seat over, Sammartino moved all in for his remaining 15,000. David Vamplew and the initial raiser called to check the {3-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{A-Hearts} flop. On the {5-Hearts} turn, Vamplew then bet to scare off Kamel and the cards were tabled:

Sammartino: {A-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Vamplew: {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}

Only a seven could help the Italian, but the {K-Clubs} river was of no help.
