For How Long Can The Gurrea Lucky Shirt Hold Out?

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Last year Artem Litvinov rode to third place in the Main Event on the back of a lucky shirt, or perhaps that should be the other way around. The Russian wore a pale blue shirt each day last season. This year Miguel Gurrea has worn the same yellow shirt each day. Will the Spaniard have similar results? Find out in the PokerStars Blog.

They saw a turn card {j-Spades} which they both checked. The river was the {9-Hearts} and when Benelli bet 61,000 he was quickly called by Coren.

Benelli showed {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} but Coren won with pot with the {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}.

Stefanelli Doubles Through Goeller

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Bruno Stefanelli opened under the gun to 26,000 and in the hijack it was Andreas Goeller who made it 61,000 to go. All other players folded, Stefanelli made the call.

Stefanelli continued to check-call his entire stack of. On the {A-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts}-flop he check-called 56,000, on the {2-Diamonds}-turn he check-called 100,000, and on the {9-Diamonds} river he check-called allin for 260,000.

Goeller mucked, but his hand was later shown. We couldn't quite catch it, but it included a jack and it wasn't good enough to beat Stefanelli's {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}.

Hakim Bad Beats Salter Out of the Tournament

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Louis Salter
Louis Salter

Jeffrey Hakim opened to 25,000 under the gun. The player in the cutoff made the call, and Louis Salter squeezed from the small blind to 76,000. Hakim shoved all in, the cutoff folded and Salter made the call.

Salter had the best hand with jacks. Hakim was in trouble holding {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} but the board would run out pretty good for him: {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{A-Spades}{3-Spades}. The set for Salter was no good, and Hakim took it down with his straight.

Scarcella Throws It Away

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Vincenzo Scarcella opened for 24,000 under the gun and Andrea Benelli three-bet to 59,000.

It folded round to Scarcella who made the call. The flop was {a-Spades}{5-Spades}{10-Clubs} and both players checked. The {k-Hearts} on the turn led Scarcella to bet out for 60,000 and Benelli made the call.

The {a-Hearts} on the river saw Scarcella check and when Benelli moved all in Scarcella threw his {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} face up on the felt in frustration.
